Shore Road Park extends approximately 2 miles running parallel with the bay and the bay walk. In between is the Belt Parkway. The park itself has children play areas and a few ball fields. At the Northern end it has a community-supported Botanical Garden . The pier terminates the park but has a dock for the Bay Ridge Ferry . The pier also has picnic tables and a Grand View of Verrazano Bridge or the skyline of Manhattan and Jersey City. The park cannot rate five stars because some areas are not handicapped friendly particularly at the South End and the perimeter roadway. Otherwise this park would be fantastic for real. As with all New York City Parks the hours usually Focus on daylight or between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. when security is usually available. Beyond those hours this and any park could be possibly dangerous.
