This supermarket is very clean and well kept they currently require all customers to wear a mask which is a good thing during covid-19 to stop the spread of the virus.
The produce department is very neat and the fruits and veggies all look near perfect. They have a nice selection of fresh store made salads. A very nice fresh cheese island with a pretty nice variety of cheeses. The meat department is a little on the small side, but the meats all look fresh and seem to be nice cuts of meat.
The only downfall is the pricing which in my opinion seem significantly higher than most other supermarkets. The sale items are priced well but there are not a lot of sale items. If you are looking for some unique fresh items, this is a great place to shop. If you are looking to get the most bang for your buck, you might want to choose one of the larger chain supermarkets. Hope my review helps you make a good decision, as to whether or not you want to shop here. If you made it all the way to the end of my review please like it and give it a little...
Read moreI've been a regular shopper at North Shore Farms for many years.
I love the store they have a great produce section and huge selection of salads.
But they're also tricky...
You really have to watch the prices. They will advertise lower priced items. But often higher priced items are not marked. Or they'll put higher priced items next to lower priced items. The lower priced item will be marked, but the higher priced item will not be marked. So you'll think that they're the same price or around the same price when they're not. It's very sneaky that they do this.
They do this in the snack section (and in produce). And I wound up paying more for an item of the same brand next to items marked less.
I'll continue shopping there for my favorite items. But they may have gotten me once, but I will no longer buy my snacks and chips there. I'll go to Mets on Willets Point Blvd instead.
And it's always a little concerning to me when businesses don't respond to...
Read moreWe are very grateful in having grocery store options in Whitestone and we were so excited when North Shore Farms opened up several years ago but it just seems as though they have kind of given up on speciality items, which made this store unique and special- especially noted during this winter holiday season of 2023.
For example, they have no: fresh rosemary (for over a month now), fresh caviar (as they used to every Christmas, via the Deli department), only minimally basic cheese options with nothing new or special - even if only for the holiday and oddly- I cannot buy frozen filo dough as they don't even carry it...sadly, it's unfortunate.
We had fun trying new, seasonal items that they sold in years past, but now it's just basic.
Hoping this is only a hiccup and whomever does the buying/managing of the store gets it together, because we miss the original (kind of) gourmet experience North Shore had when it first opened...
