Came to get my daughter hair done with cornrows in the front and a sew-in in the back I asked what was the price Aminah the shop manager told me $200 I then asked how much for just the cornrows in the front she told me $80 dollars. Mind u all hair styles for kids are 160 for back to school specials. I got the service done for my daughter.. The braider was in a rush I told her to sew all of the hair my daughter head because it was not full.. She asked me could she fix it tomorrow because she had to register her son for school. I agreed,returning the next day I was quickly denied service. I stated well take out the hair and pay me my $$.. She pleaded with me to come back tomorrow because Fanta was not there. I told her no I want the hair taking out and I want my money back. She told me the braided was there. I told her to have someone else fix the hair or return all of the $$.. I called the police because they weren't trying to take out the hair or fix the service. They started getting scared trying reason with me even fleeing out the door. I requested to speak to Dee Dee they denied me from talking her. U Could tell they didn't want me to tell her what was going on. I just wanted my money back.. I ended up having the back of my daughter's hair taking out. THEY RETURNED $100 WHICH I LOST 40 DOLLARS BECAUSE OF THE SPECIAL. This location in Irvington has changed dramatically They are robbing Dee Dee blind. Now there having u sign your name and number but their writing in the price. Pocketing the difference. This place ran smoothly when Mariam & Bijou were present... I've been coming here for 9yrs. I always spend 400+ for servicing me and my daughter. Never have i experienced a service like this.. This place is trash and needs to be shut down ! The customer service sucks, they are rude, and disrespectful to the customers face. I went in to get some braids yesterday afternoon- there were 3 ladies doing box braids and two doing nothing at all. When I first stepped in I asked the lady who approached me, can anyone do these braids and I showed her the picture. She in return said-yes, I’m going to call my sister and I said well how long will she be because I can just drive to a different shop, she said 10 mins, so I waited. Long story short I sat there for 45mins no one showed up. I asked another lady when will the girl get here ? She started talking in her language to the lady in the back who I first spoke with, they started laughing and talking and no one never responded to my question so, I Left ! Like how rude can you be to someone coming to spend their hard earned money with you ??? On top of that I’m sure no one has a license to do hair or even a green card to be in the US I’m sure they are all illegally...

I'm very disappointed in this salon. My 15 year old daughter was dropped off by her father to get medium knotless braids. Before he left, he paid for services. The price was $180. While my daughter was getting her hair braided, she was texting to inform me that the lady was talking negatively about her hair. She stated that the lady kept saying her hair was too thick. She said another lady came over and said to her why don't you put a relaxer in your hair because it's too thick. My problem is that those adults should not have been talking about or confronting this child. Also if it was such a problem they saw the thickness of my daughter's hair before they started. They should have never took the money and just said that the couldn't perform the work. My daughter was so upset that i came to the salon early and asked what was the problem.
