Extra Supermarket — Local services in Newark

I went in there to buy a specific item and asked the cashier if they carried it. She didnt speak English and asked another associate to assist me, who told me that they did not have the item. I got home and something compelled me to call and double check. I was told "of course they carry it." So I went back to the store and bought it. After eating about 1/4 of it, I realized it expired three months ago. I called the store again and was abruptly told "Bring it back with the receipt." ... In no way did I desire to return to the store. Customer service goes a long way and I feel an apology at the very least would have made the situation less...

Don't buy the loose roll in the storage bins for the bread its very unsanitary people are just sticking the bare hands on the rolls. The store needs to move the loose bread behind the deli area and distribute the bread to customers. I made this recommendation but it fell on deaf ears. After all we are living in a Covid pandemic. I really wanted that bread but changed my mind after seeing this repeatedly. Everything...

Parking lot literally has not been repaired in over 30 years. I am not exaggerating bcuz I grew up in that neighborhood to know what I'm talking about. Inside of the store, typical urban ethnic grocer. Wholefoods it ain't. Over priced items but you can find the occasional deal on produce (that they have some good stuff) also meats like chicken and pork. Also Latin and West Indian fare is prevalent here. All in all...
