Starlight Games is a card shop in Newark DE that hosts a variety of tournaments like Pokemon, Yugioh, Magic the Gathering card games, along with the video game tournaments Super Smash bros Melee and Ultimate every Wednesday evenings. Fighting game tournaments occur every other week on Sunday evenings. The games being Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Guilty Gear Strive. I mainly enter the store for the fighting games, and every time was a good experience with the store owners and the community. The store has enough space and an extra room in the back for even more tabletop/videogames to be played. There are a lot of wall outlets and surge protectors for tons of games to be held at once. The only downside is that the community has to bring their setups/equipment. But that isn't much of an issue anymore as each tournament along with the players have improved with their preparation. Starlight even has their own social medias on nearly every platform. They're on Instagram, Facebook, Discord, Twitter, and have their own Start gg page. They even have their own merch like figures for anime and gaming characters, and shirts with the Starlight logo on them. I recommend going to Starlight Games if you like to collect, compete, or have a good time gaming in general. Hoping more gamers will discover Starlight...
Read morePretty sick spot! Didn't know it existed until I ordered from them off of TCGplayer. (They accidentally sent the wrong condition of a card I ordered) I learned it was super closeby so I stopped inside and they gave me a great deal on an exchange, and a discount on a graded card they no longer wanted. Definitely a place I'll be stopping by more often for all of my trading card needs. Good selection, good prices, and overall just a very welcoming environment. If you don't wanna drive all the way to Safari Zone, this place is just as good for such a small storefront, and only having been around for...
