To start with, the store was clean and the staff was kind. I am leaving a single star because I was mislead and It cost me greatly.
In May 2014 we stopped in the store to look at a getting a Side-x-Side. We had just moved to Ohio from TX and sold out quads before moving. I wanted the 2 seat 800 but, because my kids were with me (4 and 6) the salesman said they could not ride in the two seater in Ohio even if we added the rear seat kit. He told me, he has a son same age as mine (same name also) and he know I have to get the RZR4 so my boys can ride.
It was a $4500 difference in price, but I obviously want my kids to be able to go with me. So i bought the 4 seat RZR with a roof kit and a vented windshield.
Later the same week I went to Akron Ohio (several hours away) to pick up an enclosed trailer for the RZR. I bought helmets for all 4 of us (Myself, wife and two kids). Once I got the memo title in the mail I went and got tags for the side by side just in time to take it out for labor day.
We make camp reservation at Wayne national Forrest ( the place the salesman told us about) and took off that Friday to go camp and ride.
Here is where it all goes south... We get to Wayne and the lady (Ranger) at the booth asks us if we have helmets and what the width of our ATV is. We say yes and tell here what the width is (turns out the RZR4 is too wide to ride at Wayne...the place the salesman told us to go). But that's not the worst part.. She says in Ohio our kids CANNOT ride in the RZR. their back MUST touch both the back seat and the floor at the same time.
WHAT!!!!! what kind of law is that? We ask ALOT of question and determine even if we use out DOT approved car seats (that the kids ride in the vehicle) they still cannot ride.
So we head the couple hours back home smoking mad..
we just spent $21,000 (including upgrades, gear and trailer) for a machine that the salesman up sold us to and told us where to go....THAT WE CANNOT EVEN USE IN OUR STATE.
They knew we were from TX, they knew our kids were young (they were with us for the purchase), they knew that we could not add a seat to the cheaper unit and they told us we needed the more expensive unit to be "legal".
So what did they do for us and our machine with 7 mile son it. told us we could keep it a while and then trade it in on something else we could use.....
So this week 16 months later I pay off the 60 month loan on the polaris RZR4 with now 31 miles on it (we drove it every couple weeks at our house just to keep it running) and the original tank of gas. We sold it for a massive loss because it's used ($12400) because it was only worth $8000 trade in.
Bottom line. They could have told us "we don't know if you can ride this in Ohio or where you can ride, you should check before you buy" but instead they tell us what one to buy and where to ride to be legal in Ohio and turns out they were dead wrong and cost me thousands.
If you know know the answer, don't make stuff up to get a sale. We assumed (my bad) that because you were an established Polaris dealer in Ohio and you made claim to know, that we could at least in part have some faith in what we were told.
Lesson learned, I hope this post helps anyone in Ohio who is not familiar with UTVs. My lesson was learned, the mistake was mine, don't make...
Read moreOk, Riders... Listen up ! I was working with 3 different dealers trying to buy a new Polaris Ace. According to receive the 1.99 % financing, you had to get over 1500.00 in extras. The other 2 dealerships wanted to charge me over 1300.00 in labor to put these parts on ! The Toy Store allowed me to add ANY extras , and they installed them for NO EXTRA CHARGE !! Now that make's any customer happy ! Since I had never owned a 4 wheeler, my salesman ( John ) showed me what parts were not only popular, but explained what they were for and why they were needed . Instead of 1700.00 extras , I was able to add almost 2200.00 in extra's and still got it cheaper than at the other dealerships ! You might have to drive a few extra miles to get the 4-wheeler of your choice , But when it saves you a couple grand .... ISN'T it WORTH IT ?? Make the RIGHT choice, Go to the TOY...
Read moreThis was my first time buying a buggy and I could not say anything but my experience was super amazing!! Mr. Ward was a phenomenal sales man and very informative, and did his best to give me the best deal. I was super shocked he was able to get me into a new buggy with a monthly payment that was way lower than any other competitor who sold the same buggy in surrounding counties. Even after the purchased was willing to walk me step through step on how the machine works. If you do not go to the Toy Store to buy your buggy then you are truly missing out!! I will do business with no body else but them. Very pleased and very...
