Horvath’s Harbor — Restaurant in Ohio

We celebrated Valentines Day at Horvaths with their “special” reservation required limited menu Valentine Dinner. We have dined at Horvaths several times and was really looking forward to a nice dinner. When we arrived, we waited approximately 5 minutes to be seated which was to be expected. Once seated, we waited about 10 minutes for our drink & dinner order to be taken. We were served our 1st course BEFORE we received our iced teas. We each ordered the Caprese Salad Skewers(2), fried raviolis (5 to share), each of us ordered the 12 oz Ribeye w mashed potatoes and finished off with the chocolate peanut butter pie (to share). Overall the food was just ok. 1st and 2nd courses were slightly small. The Ribeye was good (a bit fatty/grisly even for that cut of meat) but the flavor was on point. The potatoes were barely warm and a little dry. We were served our shared dessert but it was promptly removed and given to another table and we waited an additional few minutes for ours, however it was very good. Now on to the atmosphere….we were very disappointed. The hostess was wearing inappropriate footwear for the job and frankly sounded like a herd of buffalo rushing across the dining room. A member of the kitchen staff and a server got into a screaming match which led to the kitchen staff slamming dishes and our server in tears. Typically we really enjoy ourselves here but this was just a disappointing experience. Overall, I think with a limited menu the wait times between courses was incredibly long (we were in the restaurant 2 hrs and 15 mins from being seated to paying the bill) and our dining experience was just LOUD. If you haven't been here you are missing out!!! The atmosphere suites all types. Want an intimate cocktail date? Then you need to sit upstairs in the loft or by the large fireplace on the main floor in the overstuffed luxurious leather couches. Want an out of the main crowd but outdoors still table? Then the balcony is your kinda place. Have a large group that wants drinks by the firepit they've got that too. Oh you were going for a happening outdoor patio area with live music?! Winner winner chicken dinner!!! You've found it. What's that you say "I'm coming by boat" Well come on, they've got that too. Easy access with mooring off the canal. NOW let's talk about the food and drinks!! You name it from the bar the offerings are extensive. Want a Fru Fru drink? Done. A glass of wine? Which kind? A beer? Oh honey take your pick. But if you're like me and you're a bourbon girl then how about a bourbon flight from a long list of top choices!! And the food.... I don't care if you aren't a veggie person the brussel sprouts are SO GOOD they will shut your mouth and slap your grandma with your tongue!! I'M A HUGE FAN of this place and you will be too. Oh and bonus the cute little coffee shop attached to this restaurant smells AMAZING! Cmon y'all and...

We cannot love this place more. The service, the food, and the best atmosphere!! The most incredible place to be. Right on the water with the most delicious food, best bourbon and brews, spectacular views and the nicest people. Best service!! We cannot wait to go back. A must visit...once you do...you will be back. I took my mother and my Aunt and we met other family members there and everyone loved it. They were all complimenting how wonderful everything was. Oh, and a must try..the Lobster burger and Brussel sprouts. I don't even like brussel sprouts and I could of ate a whole plate. They were so good. Thom has definetely put a lot of hard work into this and it shows. Nicest guy ever too.The inside is just gorgeous but such a at home atmosphere and the perfect finishing touches added to it all. Drinks..amazing!! Cannot wait to go back when they have the music outside. We went on a day they didn't have it but what a perfect way to enjoy a day out by the water.
