Been here a few times. Usually the service is good, with two usual servers I see always very pleasant and on point. However, I went in this morning after work with a friend, and the service was awful. All the tables were taken except two, the one that seats a larger party and a tiny two person table. The two person table gets extremely cramped when your food comes, so we sat at the very end of the large table. After several min of waiting on a menu and not being greeted, an older woman who I've never seen before comes over and tells us to move to the smaller table. I told her it's uncomfortable when the food arrives, she started to debate it then when she saw a group of people left a 4 person table she suggested we move there. I asked my friend if she wanted to leave and go elsewhere because I was put off by not only waiting a long time for a menu, but being forced to move. She doesn't feel like driving far to go somewhere else so we switch tables. Wait several more min for a menu. A different lady I've never seen before gives us our menus, ask for drinks, etc. she returns in a couple min and asks us if we're ready to order. How if I just got my menu? Aside from the crappy service, the menu seems to downsize every time I come in. Different menu with like a 1/4 less items on it. I was thinking something was missing but nope that was it. Food was mediocre like usual. After I paid and we went to leave, a third woman with long dark hair scoffed at us as we were leaving, something my friend heard. When the service is garbage, I was forced to move tables and wait long periods of time for a menu, and the food is so so, you expect more than a $5 tip? Lucky you even got that. Will never return. Read moreIt was a Saturday night & we were getting hungry. It was almost 7pm. We were staying in the area and searched food near me.... top rated & open now. The Cottage Cafe came up in our search. The picts of food looked tasty. The reviews were pretty good. We decided to check it out. There was plenty of parking. When we walked in, it was bustling with activity. All the tables were in use so we sat at the counter. The staff was friendly, but seemed frazzled. The menu had a wide selection, from breakfast items to full dinners & several side items. Hard to choose, we'll have to go back to try other plates. We ordered a ham & cheese omelet (prob wouldn't order again) with hash browns & a biscuit and a Ruben (would order again) with FF. We're glad that we were at the counter because we were able to get refills on our drinks. We enjoyed the food and look forward to going back again. It's definitely worth checking out. Support local businesses, don't gripe about the cost- ingredients are hard to find and have gone up in price tremendously. Have you been able to find cream cheese lately? 🤷♀️ I saw someone comment on here about their high cost for breakfast, but it's not just this place, it's all over. Think about it- you don't have to go buy the stuff, you don't have to prep, cook/clean up or do the dishes. Sometimes it's worth it to just spend the money for the...
Read moreAfter we sat down one waitress brought the menus and took our drink order, then another brought our drinks and said she will be back. A table came in that she knew, so she took thier drink order and told the first waitress to go ahead and take over our table. The first waitress was visibly upset for whatever reason. The food took a minute but was pretty good, except for my son's steak that came out raw but was cooked up to the temp. No problem there. When we got our bill, none of the prices matched the prices on the menu. This is our first time eating there and no, we did not see the sign stating that there will be an uncharged for every egg. After that was pointed out, it made sense. What got me was, that we were charged $6 for kids chocolate milk and another $6 for a refill. I do understand that milk doesn't have free refills but a little heads up would be nice. Something like- our milk is crazy expensive and im going have to charge you agian, do you still want it? Instead, she went ahead and did it anyway. And another thing, in a small restaurant like that, you should really be aware of the fact that your customers see everything. Just FYI. And I will leave it there. Not...
