I would recommend the iredell county fair over this one anyday everyone was very rude and disrespectful it is way over priced plus you have to buy tickets for all the rides there a dollar a piece and most rides are 3 to 4 tickets a piece when you can go to iredell and buy a 25 dollar wrist band and it covers everything unlimited plus the demolition derby is included what disappointed me more than anything was when we first arrived we took my 6 year old to ride the helicopter paid and stood in line for about 15 minutes before they stopped giving rides and the bottom dropped out so like everyone else we left to find quick shelter found a little umbrella that a woman and her newborn were standing under so we stood under it for a split second until some douchbag came and told use we couldn't stand there and he put the umbrella down along with the other umbrellas that was set up he didnt wait for a break in the rain or care if it was a mother and new born or elderly person or disabled this wasnt that big of a deal if it would have just been me and my son but no the douchbag made the women leave and like I said it was freaking pouring rain and there wasnt any more shelter anywhere close but the games so we all make a run for shelter we stopped under a game tent me my son wife the women and her newborn I paid for my kid to play so they couldn't say anything to use but I noticed the man running the game told the women with the newborn that if she wasnt playin she could leave let me remind you that it's still pouring and no one is even playing the games except a few people just trying to seek shelter as soon as my 30 second game was up he immediately ran us off to at this time we had to walk about a quarter of a mile to find shelter so we headed to the car and just left for awhile to get something to eat and if it wouldn't have been for the 60 dollars we had just spent on tickets I would've took my family and left then I think the people and staff was very rude I will never go back to this fair or waste my money on this event any year to come go to iredell and get alot more...
Read moreIf you’re in hickory on a Thursday morning and the weather is nice out. This is the place to be!!! Open Flea Market outside around the fairgrounds!!! Spring and summer better get there early, because as it gets hot around noon, most of the vendor people are packing it up. Because it can be unbearable. Friendly people, with anything you could possibly need or want!! Groceries, hot food, antiques, flowers and plants, dollar vendors with everything 1$, clothes, house decor, Avon reps, toys, oils, perfumes, tools, any and everything!!! My husband and I are there every week, per sunny weather.... even if it is 30 degrees, we love it. Health Department is on surveillance for all of the hot food and drinks sold. So it is sanitary!! Bathrooms are not at the Hilton, but it’s suitable if you need to use it!! You can almost always get tremendous deals and save lots of bucks!!! I am not sure of their opening hours, but I’ve gotten there a few times at 7 am and about 35% of the vendors are set up and already working. So that can maybe help a little bit, and as far as closing, I know that it depends on the crowds, and patrons, but I’ve been there and everyone still be set up at 1230 pm Thursday. Not sure on exact open and close times. Also, if a holiday falls on Thursday— be prepared to arrive early and for tons of people. (I.e. Thanksgiving, and Mother’s Day week— insanely packed!) but overall if you like flea markets and yard sales this is a nice little outing for you and your family. My kids and grandkids love it here! Our signature- churros— we all love the hot and...
Read moreNot poor person friendly. The game people are much too aggressive, practically forcing us to go to the ATM and give them money to get cheap, badly made plushies. All the prices of everything was so inflated...it seems fun for the poor is a thing of the past. Stop heckling poor folks that just wanted a place to walk around and feel human. You've ruined the experience completely with inflation and much too aggressive and frightening games people. This IS part of the carnival that was in front of Valley Hills Mall, correct? Like you guys own that? Because that's where I got ripped off and...
