Udderly Delicious Ice Cream — Restaurant in Conover

The ice cream selection was fairly decent. The service was decent. It was very obvious these girls know how to serve up some chilly delights in a hurry. They weren't exactly the friendliest group of employees, however when you are pumping out that much ice cream those smiles and super over the top customer care flies right out the window. It's burn and turn bb. The main reason for the low rating was this. The place is a true blue dump. While it was clean and sanitary it was run down and in desperate need of some tlc. On a random week day we stopped in and we weren't the only ones. The line was out the door. Once we got ordered and served I couldn't understand what the draw was. It couldn't have been the ragtag cow paint job on the exterior of the building. It most certainly wasn't the ice cream either. While it was good ish it didn't deserve the price tag it got. Not a chance I will be back for the simple fact the product they served was sub par and in a run down building that probably hasn't seen a paint brush or wallpaper expert since Reagan was in office. Homemade ice cream my tail feathers. Try again. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul. Good day Update: Apparently bad mouthing a so so ice cream place that looked like a 12 yr old painted the exterior, is not welcome to givle an honest review. It seriously hurt their feelings so I'll have to take pics the next time I drive by so everyone can see for themselves what a hole...

Featured in Our State Magazine at one point, particularly for the Red Velvet Cake ice cream. Truth be told, everything I have had has been outstanding. Udderly makes their own ice cream and frankly this is among the best I have sampled anywhere.

Plenty of inside seating and a few picnic tables out back beside the lot. Decorated well. Clean.

Has perhaps 25+ flavors of ice cream to choose from. Multiple size options, cone options, toppings out the wazoo, you name it. Concoctions endless. Also offers shave ice, splits, shakes, among other goodies. Got a sweet tooth? They got ya covered.

This go-round I did a waffle bowl with Cookie Monster and Pralines & Cream. Both of these are a reorder. The waffle bowl is tasty in itself and could be eaten alone. Sampled the Hoof Prints as well (not mine) and would get this again. Sure there are toppings etc, but the ice cream is so good it doesn't need anything else. Completely satisfying.

Udderly gets busy so expect this. There is a reason. It's damn good. Staff here have done their best to keep up and do okay. The aforementioned Red Velvet Cake was completely out this time and this may have been serendipitous in that I branched out and tried other flavors. Overlooked perhaps are the prices relative to, say a Baskin Robbins or Ben & Jerry's. Way more affordable here. And way better ice cream.

Bam. Booya. Bliss....

$11 for a small and a medium...and both in cups! I could see $11 if both were in waffle cones but in cups??? Thats about $4 more than they should have been. But whatever, thats not the worst part, the service was very lacking. We came in on a Sunday at 3pm and were ignored while waiting in line. 3 families that came in after us were waited on while we stood in line and totally ignored. And I was staring at the girls the entire time and they looked at me then helped the others. Taking 10 minutes to get 2 overpriced cups of sub par ice cream is too much. We will never return to this place...we'll take our business to Catawba Creamery, the service, quality if ice cream and prices...
