Family Dollar — Local services in Newville

I did a pretty harsh review for this place about 4 months ago. I decided to change it due to the fact that I feel I may have been a bit unfair and hasty to judge. While I did receive below par service here 4 months ago, since then, I have been back many times. EVERY day that I go in there before say, 3-4 p.m. the same woman is in there working, by herself 9 out of 10 days. Most times that I have been in here since, I have also received better service. I think that it is wrong for a company to treat a person the way it seems they are treating her. She is expected to stock shelves, keep the store clean, and checkout and assist customers...most of the time, while running the store alone. For what she puts up with on a daily basis, I understand how that could be frustrating, I still don't want to be treated poorly, but I understand her disposition. A lot of times, I still drive to the other side of town to go to the Dollar General. They have a better selection of products and the employees are typically...

FD Drivers: Don't use the alley behind the store to enter the parking Lot there isn't enough space with their dumpsters there and the telephone pole on your passenger side. The Dumpsters should be further near the front of the building and on the same side as the building. My guess is the employees don't want to have to walk, so they make it harder for the drivers.

Best bet is to make the store manager gets the parking lot cleared so you have maneuvering space, or back up off the street.

FYI, If you don't do your job flawlessly and like a 70 year expert, rest assured the store manager will have plenty of trash to talk, not very...

Everything is neat on shelves, well stocked and help knows where everything is which helps me a lot and I don't wander aimlessly around the store. I love to go here and the Christmas decorations are just sensational. Plus I can buy my margarine and my milk, ground beef, ice cream, cheeses, eggs and other breakfast drinks. Many other foods in the freezers. From sheets to shirts to bread to plastics and paper products, it's all here. Also clean and the help is polite and friendly. So come on in and see for yourself.
