First time here. I stopped in on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar. There were quite a few people there at tables - I think all were full. Several seats at the bar were open and it looked like they had a second small bar area and an outdoor patio. Wednesday is trivia night so not sure if the crowd was more for the trivia or just their usual flow of business.
I had two beers, a blueberry IPA and a pineapple something. I preferred the blueberry but both were tasty and cold. I ordered a Buffalo chicken flatbread. That was also good and it’s enough to share with two people. I ended up taking some to go. Prices were good. They have size options for the beer and offer flights.
The place is small but not uncomfortable. There isn’t a parking lot but I was able to get a parking spot in the street. The main road is 2 lane and narrow so if you park there make sure you’re not sticking out into the street too far.
What I liked most about this place is it felt welcoming. Sometimes when you go to a new place alone, you get weird vibes from some people. That was not the case here.    Read moreWhiskers is a dog-themed, dog-friendly brewery located right in the heart of downtown Newville. They have a sizeable beer garden considering the downtown location, that offers people and pups a place to relax with a pint and bone. This is a well-loved neighborhood bar as the beertenders and regulars greeted each other by name as new folks stepped in.
The brewery focuses on approachable, easy-drinking lagers and ales with lower ABV and bitterness. Their crushable sipping beers are great for the spring and summer.
Our favorite was the Pomeranian Pineapple Wit, a light-bodied wheat ale with a hint of pineapple that kept things bright and refreshing. Founded in early 2021, Whiskers brings a warm community feel to its space and its beers. A great stop for casual craft beer lovers—especially if you’ve got a dog...
Read moreWe stopped in after our baseball tournament on Sunday for a bite to eat. My son and I ordered wings, my wife ordered boneless wings and my daughter ordered a flatbread pizza. The flavor on the wings were good, but the skin was rubbery and not crisp at all. I'd order them again, but I'd tell them to fry them several minutes longer. The fries were really good and my daughter said her flatbread was excellent. I was out in the sun all day and dehydrated, so I didn't try a beer this time. We'd go back and give it another...
