To start off back in January I had the body shop do work on my Silverado they were outstanding not one complaint had my truck back to me 3 days after everything was order. So I decided to give their service department a shot. I went in there because my coolant levels were low and I wanted them to check my break pads on the front axles and also had a birds nest packed against the radiator and wanted an estimate to remove. Knowing a few months ago I had a flat tire on the rear passenger side I checked my rotors and break pads and they still had plenty of life on them and I also check the fronts at that time which had less life remaining then the backs. They call me back a few hours later saying that I didn't just need new break pads on the front but I also need rotors and break pads on the back as well. They quoted me 1027.92 for the break job which isn't the worst part they then proceed to tell me to remove the birds nest it would be 1174.90 they also charged me with out telling me 60 dollars for coolant and a coolant test that I didn't approve of they were supposed to call first. I told them to not touch my truck anymore put it back together knowing I didn't need rotors nor back break pads and I immediately scheduled another appointment with a different Chevy dealer later that week. I got some very surprising news from the other Chevy dealer they told me both my break pads and rotors were fine on the backs and front axles and to come back in 5000 miles or my next oil change that I still had 40% pad life left on the front. I took all for wheels off my truck and took pictures or my break pads and rotors which I am willing to share and post with the manager or anyone who questions walker Chevy service along with my printed invoice of ridiculous pricing and scamming people out of money and work that doesn't need to be preformed. I will post picture to the photo portion of this page...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a wonderful experience purchasing my Crossover 2018 Chevy Trax Premier from Walker Chevrolet in Nitro. My sister, Carol Turley recommended her former Lincoln County student, Matt, the manager at Walker. She contacted him on FB Messenger. He had the day off, but encouraged us to go to the lot and the other manager Mark would take care of us. We circled the parking lot once looking at the inventory. Then Rick, my salesperson and Mark approached our car asking, "What can we help you with today?" My sister explained she was Ms. Turley and her former student was one of the managers here. They both smiled and told us they had received a call from Matt. They asked what type of vehicle I was looking for. I told them a small SUV with leather seats. They looked through their inventory list and told us where to meet them on the lot. Rick gave me two options within my price range. I chose the Crossover with leather seats. The entire process went smoothly. They were encouraging and even the financing went smoothly. They found the best financing for me, offered discounts, and T. J. efficiently wrapped up the paperwork. I thanked him and praised the whole team for the positive experience, and T. J.said, "We're just a bunch of Lincoln County, and one Logan County boys." The whole team congratulated me and took photos. The young man who washed my new to me car kept a huge smile on his face and shook my hand when he was finished. I drove off the lot with a full tank of gas and a happy heart. I recommend Walker Chevrolet to anyone who is contemplating making a vehicle purchase in the future. Ask for Matt or Mark and they will help you out. Check out Walker Chevrolet, in Nitro, WV and let those friendly Lincoln and one Logan County boys help you with your next...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had my truck repaired here after hitting a deer, because they are the prefered provider for Nationwide. After 3 weeks I got my truck back. The bodywork was acceptable. My transmission temperature soared to 238 yesterday and 248 today. Normal is 170 to 180. I started looking up part numbers and found that my truck had come with a severe duty radiator. They put a standard duty radiator in it, and a condenser, both aftermarket. I called and was polite and told them of the decrepency and I thought that might be the problem with the transmission. I got a call back from a gentleman that wanted to argue about it. Wanted to tell me the law dictates what replacement parts they use and that Dodge switched to the ac condenser for the transmission cooler. This is true. I told him that my truck transmission was still getting too hot. He told me to check the fluid level or bring it down there and they could check the fluid level: or take it to the Dodge Dealership and have it checked out. I have an appointment at the Dodge dealership 17 August 2015, over 2 weeks away. Maybe he should have said "Mr Comer why don't you bring your truck down and we will try to find out why it is overheating." I noticed a little transmission fluid collecting on the frame. My guess is there is a restriction in the transmission cooling circuit somewhere. If I drive it, I risk a fire or voided warranty, which is pretty much worthless if you have to wait 2 weeks anyway. Maybe I'll take it to someone that actually knows what they are doing. At any rate I would not do business with Turnpike Chevrolet again, not because I have a problem, but because they are unwilling to help. They billed my...
