We have been looking at purchasing the McClelland oversized recliner for several months. When we were finally able to purchase it, it had been discontinued everywhere. I searched the internet and contacted a retailer in Nashville TN and Dayton OH hoping they had one in their store. Even though those stores were miles away from our home, we would have gone to get it or paid to have it shipped. No luck. Desperate to find it, I called the Ashley Furniture store in Barboursville. They didn't have it, but the lady referred me to the Ashley Clearance Center. I called and spoke to Ed. I explained our desperation and desire to find that recliner. He was so quick to respond stating he knew exactly which one I was talking about and that he had one there. Immediately he started getting my information to purchase it so he could put our name on it and mark it sold. He informed me of their hours, how and when I could pick it up. He was just as happy as I was that we found it. He sent me a picture of the chair and invoice reassuring me it was ours. I was so happy to know we found it and can bring it home. Read moreI like Ashley Furniture. However we had damage to our house when our furniture was delivered. Ashley uses a 3rd party delivery service. I highly recommend getting a uhaul truck and picking up your own furniture! Ashley store manager said it would be no problem to fix this. The distribution center said they were not responsible. Now that we had the run-a-round which took almost a month, the truck company owner is fixing our problems. After talking to the Ohio district manager we learned that Ashley in South Charleston is an independent franchise of Ashley. We will not buy our furniture there again. Read moreIf you don’t pay for delivery then you don’t get your furniture serviced in you home and have to take it in to them. Charlie(apparently the store manager) doesn't call complaining customers back when they tell them they weren't informed of the policy. The also don't honor the Ashley website that states you get in home service regardless of delivery type if you extend the warranty. The customer service department is useless.
