I like to support local merchants and was pleased with Dona Ana up until my most recent order. I realize, as they kept saying, they had over 500 orders for Christmas, and good for them. What I donāt understand is how I pre-ordered for 9:15, waited two hours for pickup, but saw people with later pickup times who were 20 or more spots behind me in line getting their orders fulfilled while I stood there. Not to mention that people who just popped in and ordered from the case were served immediately. OK, but at least the $120 roast I ordered would be good. Except it wasnāt. It was so fatty and had little flavor. I was embarrassed to have served it to my guests, who were kind and didnāt say anything, but the amount of leftover beef made it clear no-one enjoyed it. My wife and I just ate what we could of the leftovers, and it confirmed our disappointment. I guess Iāll go to Costco next time, and save time, money, and reputation! Not that Dona Ana needs me with their huge volume of orders. I hear it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely love this business. They have amazing service, high quality food, and excellent pricing. I have found their quality to be better than any other option in the area. The service is next level with the team. One cool thing they do is they take your order, get your meat, fish, etc and then they bring it to the register counter. They don't just hand it to you or place it on the butcher counter. They carry it over to the register with your entire order. Seems like a little thing but it is a little bit of old-school service that isn't common nowadays.
Favorites are the Tomahawk. You can get a two pounder for under $40 and feed 2-3 people with it. The presentation is amazing even when you cook it yourself. The same steak would be $125+ in a restaurant. Other favorites include the bake stuffed shrimp, marinated steak, marinated chicken (incredibly tender), and the various...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad to try this place since heard rave reviews and stopped in. This place has quite a selection of speciality meats and seafood, some marinated, some prime cuts and fresh live lobster, shrimp, clams, oysters and even crab legs and some stuffed shrimp as well and a nice selection of salmon. The steak tips here marinated and chicken is excellent and beats the Shaws and Big Y up the street, especially since this is small business support and although prices are a bit higher, the quality is better and you feel good supporting the place. I think this may be owned by next store Novato's Restaurant which is also a nice place to stop and grab a bite. In all friendly staff, decent prices and a great selection, plus they even have some sides like potato and macaroni salad, some produce and even marinades and seasoning. Glad I...
