I love Kate Spade products and never had a problem in any of the stores until the other day. I was ready to check out, the associate was on the phone so I stood at the counter waiting. There were some perfume samples at the counter, so I figured I would try while I waited and maybe buy the travel size. I spritzed a tiny bit on my wrist and rubbed together. The same associate told me to not spray at the register but to go further in the store. At that time I just put the perfume down, and completely respected her request. Another associate started checking out my purchase. The first associate got off phone, walked by the register again, made a horrible face about the perfume smell and started spraying lysol all over the place very dramatically. I was almost done checking out, she really could have waited until I left. If the associates do not want people to try perfume by the register, maybe it shouldn't be there. Read moreOn the stores opening day, June 15th, 2018 my first visit to Kate Spade in the Norfolk Premium Outlets was extremely disturbing. All I wear is Kate Spade because her products are of great quality! However, soon after entering the store with two of cousins we was labeled due to being individuals of color. We were repeatedly followed, watched, and ask constantly for assistance. I wasn’t able to fully enjoy myself and look at the new items on the shelves. I was very uncomfortable throughout my entire shopping experience; the employees were looking at us and whispering on their radios and then one of them walked over to us again and just stood there looking. I will be writing cooperate a letter also about this matter. I never have been treated so horrifying because of the color of my skin. Accused me of not having the amount on my gift card that I told them I did, even when I showed them the receipt for proof. Then basically told me that it’s not working so I’ll have to come back and try another day. After the supervisor noticed that I was recording the conversation because of how terribly they were treating me, they tried the gift card again and suddenly it worked. Never once apologized for the inconvenience or for their accusations against me. Just took my money and sent me on my way. As someone who goes to this location and makes purchases frequently, this was an extremely disappointing visit. Associates very much made the purchase a hassle and ruined my experience.
