I just collaborated with Ray on my second Dunn Lumber order this year. His positive attitude, deep listening, problem solving, clear knowledge of Dunn’s products, and simply excellent service remind me why my wife, Margaret, and I have been collaborating with Dunn Lumber on five home renovations over 35 years at Mercer Island, Lake Cushman, and now Dash Point.
During our two collaborations, Ray and Dunn Lumber live Dunn Values:
• Quality Materials: 100% of the products the Dunn Lumber team selected for the first delivery to our home were usable and high quality! Rarely so from either Home Depot or Lowes.
• Trusted Advice: Ray educated me on my options swiftly and succinctly. The right products arrived on schedule later in the week!
• Customer Commitment: Dunn Lumber is dedicated to providing a "square deal" to both customers and employees, as promised by Albert Dunn in 1907. Ray has the judgment, discretion, and authority to help me out with fair and reasonable product pricing and delivery based on our first order, despite our second order’s lower quantity. That nurtures our existing loyalty my friends!
• Family-Owned Legacy: In Ray, Dunn’s 5-generation legacy continues...one delighted (and repeat) customer at a time!!
My heartfelt gratitude to Ray Negrin, CEO Mike Dunn, and the entire Dunn family team!
I look forward to our next Dunn Lumber collaboration where, on renovation number six, Margaret and I create more regenerative living - aligned with nature and the logic of life - in the built environment.
Cheers, Captain David Gallimore Avid home renovator and regenerative life, leadership, and business coach helping navigate purpose-driven leaders to a more beautiful, bold, regenerative future for all...

I've been coming regularly to this location for 10 years and the quality of Lumber is Grade 1 or better A+ stuff. Job builds and renovations go so much smoother, I don't have to pick out "good" pieces from a box store and any warped wood they receive gets removed from stock and sold in "farmers slings" separately out front at usually 50% discount or better. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to answer questions anytime of day, the rest of products they carry are all exceptional quality at excellent prices. They are Also one of the few local tdistributors for FEST TOOLS. If you value tools that deliver perfect cuts w/ tight tolerances then check out the in store lineup. FEST TOOLS carry a hefty price tag but that includes free shipping for repairs and unrivaled support from the company. Makes my beloved Makita/Bosch/Milwaukee tools seem like cheap harbor freight knock offs. This goes for...
Read moreI had a particularly challenging repair to make on an outdoor staircase that required finding, cutting and replacing 3" x 12" steps. Multiple trips to Home Depot and Lowe's were unsuccessful; the 3" dimension was unusual enough that they either they didn't carry it or they would have to order it at great expense. And, if they could get it, they wouldn't cut it. I went to Dunn Lumber in Normandy Park and found what I needed in about three minutes. The staff -- especially John Le and Grisha Moss -- were incredibly helpful. Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for, they cut it to the sizes I needed and the price was very, very reasonable. The service was first rate. I couldn't be happier with the experience. I will be returning to Dunn Lumber in the future (in fact, I already have)....
