We only stopped so my son could use the restroom but as I walked out the server had a table ready and brought out chips and salsa so as a courtesy I felt obligated to stay and order a drink, at the least. When the server approached I ordered a drink then asked for more time with the menu, just in case my son wanted something to eat, which he did. The server told us that they would be closing at 9pm, with a little bit of an attitude while he hollered quickly over to the only other occupied table in the restaurant. This was my first time here, I find it strange that a restaurant would close at 9pm on a Saturday night. I skimmed thru the menu and decided to order a soft taco kids meal for my son and an appetizer dish for myself. I was with a friend and the server asked her what she wanted so let him know we would be sharing, he quickly picked up our menus and mumbled something as he walked away, again. I'm assuming he was irritated she didn't order? Feeling totally unwelcome and rushed, I quickly sipped down my drink and decided we would go. As I called over the sever, I let him know we would like to take our food to go. Apparently the to go boxes were right behind our table so he quickly handed it over to me, and said "you're welcome". Honestly, I've been a server and despite how busy it may be I personally make it a point to box the food for MY customers. Maybe I care a little more about taking care of my customers? I find it rude he handed me a box just to go sit down in a chair, only to wait for my table and the other table to leave. After I boxed my food I asked if I could get a to-go cup since my son wanted his full cup of juice to take with him. The server hesitated and told me he would need to go look for one, If they had any... (I'm sorry for making you work?) I still tipped him 18% for his horrible service tonight but I won't be returning. A restaurant should make it a point to make their patrons feel welcome. If the restaurant reads thiS, I hope you either change the front of help personnel or his attitude, because customer service is important for...
Read moreWe are staying at my in-laws for a couple of weeks and just wanted to grab some dinner within walking distance. Not expecting much from this hole in the wall - a small pace in a strip mall - but I n ow stand corrected. A family run restaurant with great service and flavorful food. First, I sound like high maintenance, but I don’t care for the sickening sweet margaritas. I just want lime juice, a little agave, and tequila. But I feel so pretentious ordering a “skinny margarita”. If I was worried about being skinny, I wouldn’t be ordering a margarita! Our server wasn’t certain, so she asked another server, who was uncertain, and then a third woman popped out and asked what I was after. “Of course, we can do that!” And it was SO refreshing. We laughed a bit and she basically told me I have to get over it and just ask for a skinny margarita, LOL. All three women were warm, friendly, and attentive. The food? The carne asada was a bit dry and tough, but well marinated and flavorful. The Camerones mojo de ajo were scrumptious. Tender and delicious. There are about a dozen camerones dishes on their menu and I can see why. My husband ordered the enchilada-tamale combo. Tamales are generally hit and miss. These are a huge hit. The masa was light and tender (some are so dense and thick it’s like eating paste). He said the piccadillo in his enchilada had an interesting seasoning one doesn’t typically associate with Mexican food - Rosemary? It was very faint but really added to the dish. We look forward to returning and discovering more delicious food… but will definitely order more tamales and likely another...
Read moreI recently flew into Seattle hungry, and just Googled "food near Seattle airport". Mexican sounded good, so I chose this place at random. Talk about luck; this place is THE best Mexican I have ever had. My mother agreed.
The Food: Overall, everything is very flavorful, including things you wouldn't necessarily expect: 1) regarding the free chips and salsa, their house salsa is the perfect combination of flavor and spiciness - a little on the spicy side (which I prefer), so be warned; 2) regarding the beans and rice that are "standard" sides with so many Mexican dishes, they're not just standard at this place - delicious; 3) regarding the main dishes, you guessed it...they were soooooo good - big portions too.
The Service: We had Gabriela as our server; she was super nice, charming, and attentive.
Bottom Line: EAT HERE!!! lol.
P.S. I'm way too lazy to write these reviews unless a place truly makes a big impression on me - trust me...
