Donât use Magic Grooming in North Bay Village.. My thought for today; We are imperfect creatures living in an imperfect world getting on each otherâs nerves.. In December 2020, I took my babies (my dogs) to the groomer. Same groomer Iâve taken 4 generations of my dogs to for almost two decades.. The owner was friends with my late mom, He went to the same church as her, the owner even went to my moms funeral. Well, over the years theyâve done okay jobs but mostly marginal to bad jobs, but never such bad jobs as they did in December; their prices have risen steeply but we stayed loyal.. So for Christmas we took our âchildrenâ to get groomed, they did the worst job Iâve ever seen, and even though they get the same cut always, I had told them what I wanted, like I always do.. But this time they left uneven cuts (more than usual), and gave them poodle tails.. (my dogs are super passive so they canât blame the dogs, especially for the poodle tails) I complained and the young lady said next time sheâd give us a free grooming, but that didnât satisfy Lotte, because she went in there as well totally and rightfully upset about the horrible job and they told her the same thing as well, the next one was on them; and so today I took them for a spring grooming and the one lady who was there today had no clue, and I saw the owner walking in the next room (day activity room for boarded cats and dogs), closing the door making no eye contact with me; then the lady who said it was supposed to be free came out from the back to tell me that she said no such thing and that it would come out of her pay, so I asked to talk to the owner, and they both told me he was not available, I insisted and then they came up with (out of the blue) that he was in a meeting.. (with who..? Other dogs in the back?) The first lady started to talk to the other lady in Spanish as if I wasnât there and I was some dead beat, she didnât think I understood or talked Spanish (which in it of itself is just rude anyway) granted, itâs not my first language but I interjected in Spanish which caught her off guard.. They refused to honor the offer to groom our dogs at no cost due to their negligence, and I asked; (mind you, almost 20 years a loyal customer) I asked, what would you do if all this happened to you, and with a straight face she said, sheâd never come there again... Iâm very happy they are making such good money there that they can turn a good loyal and paying customer away, someone who has supported them through ups and downs of the economy. (especially now in these times of COVID and slow business for everyone, when businesses everywhere are closing down) so today, they lost two dogs, not just that but a loyal customer who will go elsewhere from now on.. I can deal with them not wanting to do free work, no one should work for free. I had expected some kind of compromise or discount; anything for the shabby work they did in December, but they refused to honor their promised to make their ugly screw up right and then blatantly lied about it.. funny she recalled the incident very well, but not that she offered a freebie, if she was not in a position to have offered it, she shouldnât have.. I will never go there again.. and I will never recommend anyone to go there.. if they are okay about losing me as a customer, they can do without other customers as well. It turns out they are not honest people and they were never really all that good in the first place, I was just supporting local businesses, and until today I liked them, and their prices are too high for the kind of work they do anyway.. I was a supporter of theirs until today, recommended many people to go there over the years, as I have been with all north bay village businesses, but as that lady told me, she wouldnât go there if she was me, so I wonât go there again.. And lady, if youâre reading this, I know youâll deny it. I hope your conscience is clear, and you can live...
Read moreI just had the worst experience ever at this dog grooming place. I let myself get convinced by the reviews which was 4.7 stars out of almost 100 people. First I called to make sure they take walk ins and also to explain to them that my dog is afraid of groomers so I need to put the muzzle on myself before they groom him. The man (william is his name ) told me to not worry that they will call me when is his turn so I can put the muzzle on him. They had other dogs infront of him. 1 hour and a half later a woman calls me (named Cinthia ) telling me that they have been trying to put the muzzle on my dog and that he wonât let them. I told her that I specifically told the man who received my dog that I have to put it on him because he wonât let anyone else do it, and the man told me I was going to be called to do so. I immediately went inside the grooming place so it took me like 2 minutes to get there after the phone call, when I get there my dog is bleeding on his right cheek and its a deep injury and he even had blood on his right front leg from the same injury. Apparently there excuse is that they tried to put the muzzle on , but how the heck did u hurt him and make him bleed like this by trying to put the muzzle on. Also if he didnât let you from the beginning, why in the heck would you not call the owner right away instead of hurting him until you make him bleed. I am so angry right now at how they handled this situation. The worst part is that Cinthia and Miguel ( the groomers who did this) just kept blaming the front desk man (william) that wasnât even there when I got there. They kept trying to justify the fact that William didnât tell them to call me to put it on. Yes he has a part to be blamed for because he shouldâve communicated with them what I said and that he said he would call me, but regardless the fact that they hurt my dog like this enough to make him bleed instead of just calling me from the beginning after the first attempt. đĄđ¤Ź. I filed a police report already but just needed to share this with you all since the good reviews fulled me too. Please if you love your pet as much as I love mine ( I have had my dog for ten years now since he was 1 month old, so you understand he is like a son to me) do not support this pet grooming business. It doesnât deserve itâs license, clearly they are not professional enough or even safe for your pet. I want to post the pictures and the video but unfortunately I am not able to through here but I did post it on Instagram...
Read moreI have been coming here as a repeat/loyal customer for a long time, then the UNTHINKABLE happened. I left my dog there to get groomed and when I picked him up he was limping. I looked at his paw and it looked like a wound that was cleaned up and masked to look like nothing happened. The next morning, his paw had this visible aftermath of the wound. I brought my dog back and confronted them. Of course they denied it. All of a sudden all of them came from the back and all showed âsympathyâ but did not take accountability at all. They were quick to say âthat didn't happen hereâ. âWe donât have tools here that could cause thatâ. etcâŚOne of the ladies actually said âOh my god, I didnt do that, I did nothingâ Complete obvious of guilt, but still denying it. One of them also had the audacity to say âMaybe he stepped on a cigarette buttâ Who the hell says something like that??!! Did they even offer a refund? No. But they did say âOmg, please keep us updated we are so sorryâ after I told them I was taking him to the VET to get some real answers. Itâs unfortunate because real professionals would of at least taken accountability, but no, they did not. The thought of how loud my dog probably cried/screamed when they did this to him fills me with ANGER and PAIN. The trust they broke is something im sure means nothing to them. BEWARE! Next time you take your pet there, make sure you look at every inch of your pet before exiting that place because you might see signs of them hurting your loved ones. Our pets are not mere property or objects that you can just injure and cover up. Our pets are family. If our pets can talk, who knows how much they would have to say about...
