Food Lion — Local services in North Charleston

Went in for 3 items tonight and the store lines we're long so me and my 3 items walked over to customer service that appeared to be open as well as the lines With two people in front of me I asked the manager that was helping the first customer in line if it was alright if I waited to check out my 3 items only due to the guard putting up a hand written closed sign as I walked up The manager was very rude with her response . Manager I don't have time for this.

Basically snapping at me in a harsh rude tone following up with the unnecessary response from the guard as well Guard Can't you read the sign say's close That means no you can't wait here . So I told both of them Me Wow. You don't have to be rude about it and last I checked this was customer service . And I walked away to stand in a long line with my 3 items Giving the road conditions I was not in the mood to drive some where else for the 3 items I needed . I've been shopping at that food lion for almost 6 years now And I will never shop their again I will drive that extra mile to bi-lo or go to another area to shop. With just my 3 items I should of been able to get checked out with no problem . As I leave after waiting almost 8 to 10 minutes it seemed I see almost 7 people in line at the same customer service I was given a hand written close sign . The way the manager and guard handled me as a customer left me very unhappy with my shopping experience with food lion Also with this trip being me giving food lion a second Chance at this location due to my last shopping trip ended with me and my mother standing in line almost twenty minutes so I can be refunded almost 50 dollars because the cashier added my grocery's to customer in front of me order and cashed me out as if it was mine and didn't say one word to me about the mix up I'm the one that noticed when I looked at my recipe after realizing I spent way to much for the little bit if items I had purchased. I will never shop with this store again and I'm also asking my friends and family not to shop here as well . We work hard for our money and we also have a choice of where we spend it rude and unprofessional business will not have any business with...

This is the worst grocery store I have ever been to. The manager I don't know his name he's maybe 35 African American is unbelievably unhelpful, rude and unprofessional. I've actually never been treated worse in 45 years of shopping and I've lived all over the world and in many parts of the U.S. 2 of the cashiers and incredibly rude literally trying to start some kind of issue, they're incredibly aggressive I had my debit card poised to swipe it, but I was waiting for her to give me the total and she just aggressively shouts "Hold on, Hold on!!" over and over again like a maniac. I said "Hi there could you please swipe the Food Lion card for me?" She totally ignored me, I asked again and nothing. After the 3rd time she rudely replied "I heard you" Another time the cashier charged me twice for my cheese and when I told her the sign said 2 for $5 she became super hostile and aggressive and refused to come look at the sign. When I told the manager he refused to come look at it too, showing me a secondary display of the same product instead. When he refused to come see the sign I left the store telling him he was incredibly rude. His response was to follow me out yelling 'Yo Mama" over and over. Lol like what?? How is this person running a business? He's a disgrace and clearly racist. Terrible store, only reason they stay open is it's a poor area with few options within walking distance. Ps. I'm not some bored Karen I've worked as a cashier in a grocery store before, and I know it's tough dealing with the public, but these people are just awful and should find jobs where they don't deal with the...

Showed up at 9:52pm on 12/21/23 and doors were locked. I was confused because the closing time was not until 10pm and it almost 10 minutes before that, yet the doors were locked. I waited a minute and a gentleman that worked there let another guest out and I asked if they were closed. I asked if I did, in fact, have 5 more minutes to grab the 1 item I needed. The food lion employee told me “you may have 5 minutes to get what you need, but they close at 10 o’clock” and would not let me in the store to purchase the 1 item I needed. The gentleman was pretty aggressive especially considering I am a single woman by myself outside at night. I understand hours but I only needed 1 item and would have been out of the doors before the advertised hours. It would make more sense to put hours ending at 9:30 if going to not allow guests in almost 10 minutes before closing. Won’t shop here anymore and will tell...
