In 46 years of my adult life, I have never walked out of a restaraunt. I really wanted a good breakfast, but was unwilling to eat there based on the mess we saw in every corner of this dining room. There was no one in there not a single person. We actually thought maybe they were closed. We walked in and saw every table had food debris on them, including the counters and floors. We were told to sit anywhere we wanted by a polite young lady, but the mess left us with not much of a choice. My son had to ask her to clean off the table for us. We started to sit down, looked around and decided that the place was not for us. With so much food on the floors and dining area, we opted to leave because what condition could the kitchen area be in? I was bummed, I really wanted a good breakfast. I have never written a bad review like this before, but this was beyond just a little messy and needs some scrutiny from leadership. Hopefully this is a one-off, maybe we got there after a large party of people, so who knows. Needless to say, this was an experience we hope no one else has to witness. I will say, both employees were very polite and seemed bummed we changed our mind, but our desire crashed and burned with our...
Read moreWorst Waffle House experience I’ve ever had. We took an Uber to the Waffle House after a concert last night, excited for some late night waffles! The exact moment we walked up to the door (at 11:30pm at the 24hr restaurant) a male employee walked up to the door and dropped a metal shelf right in front of the door so we couldn’t enter. It was so blatantly rude we were shocked. We weren’t rude, loud, drunk, or anything that should have made them not want us to enter. We never even got the chance. Eventually a woman came to the to-go window and told us that we could only order to-go. Window service only. Dining room closed. There were multiple customers at the counter eating, several at a table, and a customer trying to exit (he also got stuck at the metal shelf blocking the door). I’ve never experienced a Waffle House or any other restaurant functioning in this manner. I live 5 minutes down the road and will never return. If I need waffles I’ll just drive to the Waffle House in Mt Pleasant or West Ashley. From reading through the reviews there are multiple customers who also experienced the door being blocked off despite other customers and plenty of staff...
Read moreNobody thinks that waffle House is going to be an amazing experience, but If you are hungry at 12:30 am you can be quite limited on choices so here we were... At waffle House expecting the usually mediocre food, unfriendly servers and overall sense of sadness one finds at these locations in the middle of the night. This time was different though because I was told that we had to order at a window and stand outside. Is this supposed to be more efficient? They still had the usual 4 people working this night. All the while there were what I assumed were customers who seemed to be having a party inside. Loud music and laughing was easily heard and seen from outside, only to be interrupted by the occasional break they would take to go outside and smoke weed right beside the door. The girl who took our order was nice but the experience brought my already abysmal expectations to an even lower low. The plywood(hopefully temporary) order out window was especially classy. The 20 percent charge to the new carry out order added ample insult to injury. Do better awful house. We don't...
