The Fresh Grocer of High Mountain Rd. — Local services in North Haledon

I've noticed that when I purchase an item and it scans higher than the sign or tag they make me pay the higher price which I do believe that is against the law. They have more self service registers than they do human operated ones. Now, I only come to this store on my lunch break or when I visit my mom. Today I went to get my avocado. There was only 4 self-service registers opened and one or may 2 registers. The self service was backed up and finally this woman came out of the office and called people over. When she called me she rang up my avocado $1.29 I gave her cash and she couldn't open her drawer to give me change . She was struggling. I asked if she had a key to open it she called someone. I asked if she could ring it up again and I would pay by credit card and she said she already put it through as cash. Well I worked for a super market twenty or more years ago and it was possible so maybe she isn't trained correctly . I took my money back and left because I wasn't going to go back on the long line. Catered BBQ Memorial Day 2021: Greg (Catering Manager) was a so easy to work with and assisted my wife with setting up a BBQ. The quality of the meats and prepared foods was excellent! Top shelf Angus Burgers, Thumann's Hot Dogs, baked beans, fantastic rolls and all the fixings, Italian Sausage, BBQ Ribs, cole slaw, macaroni salad, chicken tenders, french fries!! Nothing was left out! If that wasn't enough - The sent us Don! Don worked his magic setting up the buffet inside, managing the kitchen, preparing our grill, cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs and exceeded everyone's expectations!!!! I didn't have to do a thing! Our guests were raving about everything.

It was the first time I didn't BBQ and truthfully - I loved every minute of it. I actually got to relax and enjoy myself. Don took care of the entire event and even cleaned up!!! I started shopping 56 years ago when I had my baby if i remember correctly this family had a store on John Street in haledon. Then when they opened the store on haledon Ave I shopped there for years. Once they closed that store I go to the north haledon store. I buy somethings made at the store eggplant parm rotisserie chicken pastries I went in in June to order a half sheets cake and was told it would be around 25.00 but when I picked up it was 60.00 the young person who waited on me was not very knowledgeable. I shop this store every week. Most of the food cooked in house are good but you have to be careful and all of the bowl and basket items I tried were terrible like I said i.have been shopping this families store for 56 year I have to get all my heavy groceries from shoprite because fresh grocer doesn't deliver also I am very disappointed that they stopped giving out free turkey around the holidays after shopping here for 56 years very cheap that the can not give a turkey...
