Ganda's — Local services in North Liberty

I have been going to Ganda for several years. In the past she provided alterations for roughly 3 of my bridesmaid dresses, a couple dress pants and a casual dress. I was very happy with her work and everything fit quite nice and looked professional. You couldn't even tell I had them altered.

This past Fall I had my wedding reception and turned to Ganda yet again for her expertise with my wedding dress. Even though the dress was close to my actual size, there were numerous alterations that needed to be made: hemming of 3 layers, shortening of the straps, cups added for support and taking in on the sides around the waist. The alterations were more difficult to perform near the waist then I imagined because of how the dress was sewn together....there were 4 or 5 seams! I believe I had 5 visits with Ganda (which is a lot) to get things just right. She even told me she was picky on how things looked. In fact, the straps of my dress were sticking out a bit on the back (I had a deep V plunge) and Ganda pinned and altered them because she noticed it. This was something I didn't see yet she did and fixed it.

The day I picked up my dress I was in a bit of a hurry and felt rushed. I took it home and tried it on. It wasn't laying quite right on the hips. I was completely nervous but I called Ganda the next day. I was worried she would be upset. She listened to me, was understanding and said she wanted to get it right....she wanted me to be happy. She asked that I come in that day or the next to make a few more adjustments. As it turned out she forgot to remove a few layers which was causing the top layer to bunch. She made these adjustments and I picked up the dress about a week later. I was thrilled! It fit like a glove and I felt confident!

Finding an experienced and talented seamstress is somewhat challenging...especially one who is affordable. Ganda is extremely experienced and most definitely talented!!!!! She did beautiful work on my wedding dress. She is an honest, kind, down-to-earth woman and a gem in the world of seamstresses. She works out of her home in a no frills, simple environment. I'm happy I've found her through a referral years ago. She is great and is most definitely extremely fair with her pricing and is very affordable.

The moment you walk in Ganda's door, she hops right to business. I brought in a bridesmaid dress for alterations and after I put it on, she gave it a thorough inspection and asked what I wanted done. She not only altered the dress just as I wanted it, but she did it in less than a week! Ganda took what I thought to be an impossible task, and executed her plan beautifully. At 6 months pregnant with a family wedding just weeks away, my dress didn't zip.
