Walmart — Local services in North Reading

This is by far the worst Walmart in the area. If I could give no stars I would. I couldn't find my receipt and tried to exchange a unopened onion salt, which I grabbed by accident instead of an onion powder, which was the item that I wanted. The customer service cashier took forever punching in numbers and speaking in a foreign language under his breath and then told me that because it was a food item that I had to go get the item that I original wanted because they could not give me a store credit. I went and got the onion powder and went back to him and then he told me I had to get the same item, meaning I had to exchange it for another onion salt. What? I explained that I grabbed onion salt by accident. I didn't want onion salt so why would I get another one? The cashier and his coworker said that for food items without a receipt that you can only get the same item as a replacement. I asked why they sent me to go get the onion powder then and they have no intelligent response and just kept repeating the same thing.

I went back home and search for my reciept and found it so I called the store to make sure there would be no issues when I drove all the way back there. I was put on hold for 8 minutes, then someone got on there and started paging a customer with a Honda to move their car. I said hello and they hung up on me. I called two other times and no one picked up the phone.

Btw, the unhelpful cashier's operator # is 002582, if anyone at this walmart cares about bad reviews, this cashier needs additional customer service...

I went in to buy a calculator, that the website claimed was in stock. When I got in there, the aisle the website said is actually Halloween stuff. I asked an employee where the calculators were and he pointed me in the correct direction. The calculator was out of stock when I got there. I tried to ask an employee to check on stock levels, but they either were not able to understand my request or unwilling.

Out of stock, no big deal.

After, I decided that I need a phone charger as my phone was about to run out of batteries. I got two different kinds and a redbull and paid. I was not given a receipt for this transaction. I got out to the car and the charger I opened up was clearly used l, frayed, and defective. I brought it back in to the cashier that I had bought it from and let her know I needed a receipt, but she was either unable to understand me or unwilling to help and she pointed to customer service. Customer service then interrogated me over my lack of receipt until a person who i assume is a supervisor came over and yelled at her to do the return.

I ended up with a Walmart gift card for the interaction. The other cable doesn’t work either, and was clearly shoved back in the box without testing, but I’d rather eat the loss than deal with that store again.

Nothing about this interaction was positive, besides the initial employee who gave correct directions as he was walking away.

They only have one or two long lines opened or you scan your own.. I had this young girl coming up while doing the scanner going through my bags and counting.. standing behind me. ACTUALLY RIGHT UP MY ASS!! Such an uncomfortable feeling. These young kids think they work for the FBI. She aggravated me so much that I put the rest of my purchases on the Pepsi machine.. I was totally humiliated and felt very angry so I yelled out of total frustration. I called the manager.. also very young too!! I hope it didn’t fall on deaf ears. My next call is to corporate office!! If I’m spending my money at there establishment I don’t feel anyone should be harassed. Ive watch them stop older people on their way out who actually went through the cashier line and they still stopped her to go through her belongings.!! She wasn’t to happy about that. Don’t get me wrong there are many helpful and decent people who work there too!! These kids should be helping the customers not harassing them. I’m sick and tired of these young kids that can’t help you if you ask a question.. they don’t know?? Or they don’t know where or no comprende!! Not sure why they have 5 people hanging around they should put them on a register .. Do we get a discount for ringing in and bagging...
