My husband ordered a cake from Kyoko for my birthday recently and, while I wasn't aware of the finer details with the ordering process given that all of it was a surprise, I was absolutely ecstatic to see the end result. The cake was a light pink buttercream on the exterior with a three-tier matcha cake layered with matcha cream. Matcha is honestly such a hard flavor to get across in both cake and cream and Kyoko did such a fantastic job with not just the flavor, but with the bake and presentation of the cake. The rounds were soft, moist, and fluffy, and the pink flowers on the outside were just adorable (especially with the matcha dots).
Aaand I would have taken a photo of the cross section, but since my knife cutting skills aren't quite up to par and I cut into the first slice like a feral raccoon with the hotel cutlery, my husband and I just tore into the cake with our forks đ . The cake was so tasty and decadent, we demolished half of it in the afternoon. :)
Kyoko is also such a sweet person--even just meeting her for a few minutes while picking up the cake, I could tell she was an incredibly warm person dedicated to her craft. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely order once more. Thank you Petite Sakura for making my milestone birthday such a...
Read moreKyoko, is SO lovely, friendly, extremely talented and she was just an absolute pleasure to work with. She custom created a beautiful vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and strawberry preserves. The cake was so delicious! WOW! I found a photo of the design and she created it even better. Communication, planning, execution & delivery were all excellent. She carefully noted, allergies, intolerances etc. She is a home kitchen but has all of the certifications to put you at ease about using a home kitchen. Both residential kitchen license and whole sale license. She was happy to provide all licenses to us. We were hosting a hospital event and food and safety is really important. The cake was so yummy and so beautiful, I felt sad to cut into it. Kyoko, really puts so much love into her cakes and desserts. Her brown butter rice krispy treats with black sesame seeds are literally out of this world and I promise you will never want a regular rice crispy treat ever again. It's so awesome that she delivers. It can be tough to find a bakery of her caliber that delivers. And she does! She goes above and beyond. Thank you so much and we will absolutely be back.

Read moreI donât have much of a sweet tooth, but my husband certainly does. Having lived in Providence for seven years, his standards for dessert were impossibly high, and we couldnât find anything that met his expectations after moving to the Boston areaâuntil we stumbled upon this gem of a bakery, PETITE SAKURA!
We discovered it during JP Octoberfest last year and tried their bourbon caramel cupcake. From that moment, we were hooked. We ended up eating three cupcakes in a row, plus their amazing chocolate chip cookies! These cupcakes are unlike anything Iâve ever triedâthey taste like something youâd find at a high-end Tokyo bakery. My personal favorite is the black sesame matcha cupcake, but their meringue treats are always a delightful surprise.
You can tell that Kyoko, the owner, uses only the finest ingredients in every creation. Itâs no wonder we keep coming back for more. Wholeheartedly, I recommend PETITE SAKURA to anyone with a sweet tooth or anyone just looking for truly exceptional...
