Village Ace Hardware — Local services in North Topsail Beach

Hi, I'm Cathi Litcher, Community Liaison for the Greater Topsail Community Garden! We already gave Village Ace Hardware a "Shout Out" on social media, but we couldn’t let this recent act of generosity go without a little extra love.

Our garden is completely volunteer-run, and everything we grow—fresh produce and herbs—goes straight to Share the Table to help feed our food-insecure neighbors. Yesterday, Ace donated a whole bunch of seeds for us to plant in the garden! 🌿🌽🌸 And anything we can’t use will be shared with the Pender County Library’s Seed Catalog so even more people can get growing.

While at Ace Hardware the other day, I was searching for a wind chime that I had found a few weeks earlier to gift to my best friend before traveling to see her. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember where I had seen it last. I asked Kristin (I hope that's the correct spelling) if there were other wind chimes in the store. Ace Hardware has a great selection of unique gifts and home decor, by the way! Regardless, Kristin searched the entire store for around 20 minutes and found exactly what I was looking for. To my surprise, she informed me that they were even on sale! I want to extend my gratitude towards Kristin for putting in the effort to find the perfect gift for my best friend..... I picked one up for me...

I love hardware stores, especially the smaller, hometown types. Surprisingly, they do have many items...they appear customized to the area. Prices? Some items reasonably priced compared to Home Depot and Lowes. So, best to check unless you have your "Hardware Degree." 3 stars in lieu of 5 because...when potential customers enter your establishment, SAY HELLO, HI, SOMETHING! My last visit, the 3rd time, I was looking an item NEAR CHECKOUT. BRO-TATER-CHIP LOOKED AT ME & BEFORE I COULD INQUIRE, TURN AROUND, IGNORING ME. Gonna try ONE MORE TIME...I will follow up.
