Ashi's Grocery Store — Local services in North Towanda Township

This used to be a great hometown store....anymore you are not only greeted with attitude but the deli is full of rude, lazy, disrespectful workers! I have never seen such a group as the ones today 9/18/23.....I get it that yes if you were "swamped" it would be nice for people to special order things ahead of time specifically the 2ft subs.....however there were 3 workers and only 3 customers that came before me...2 of which were already being taken care of. I do not enjoy having to listen to constant bitching about doing your job just because my family would prefer made fresh subs just like I'm sure other families do. My family have always came to Hurleys for subs because we like the quality & when you have a big family it's nice to spend a little to get a lot. Also, customer service is part of your job and if a simple request is asked of you...then don't throw a fit like a toddler be an adult and do your job. The constant ringing of a personal phone call was unacceptable and the fact that you as a worker are more worried about your personal life then taking care of customers which again is your job! Makes me think that the owner Nick doesn't really know what employees are hired and how they act when he or his wife are not around....

Went for lunch meats. I like my stuff cut on the thin side. They assume that everyone wants blocks of meat and cheese on their sandwiches. This has been a long time battle for us and today the worker actually made a comment to me about it. She stated "she will make sure not to wait on me again " one worker in the past always avoided us completely. joking or not, I thought it was rude. So much for the customer getting what they ask for. Maybe if you just cleaned off the old cheese from the slicer, everything else wont stick to it. I don't care if they figure out who I am. If you don't want to cut my stuff the way i ask, please find...

I am disgusted with this store. Nothing about this store has changed over the years. Just to buy a money order they refused my credit card & my debit card. It's still strictly cash and they still don't do cashback transaction, how primitive is that. Two centuries behind the rest of the country. This store needs to on the ball and play catch up and graduate into the 21st century. Get their heads outta their butts. Guess I will be doing alot of my shopping in NY...
