I have been a loyal customer of EZ Pawn in Hammond for over 15 years, generally having positive experiences, whether borrowing against items or purchasing, particularly jewelry. On a recent visit, I found a beautiful Tiffany bracelet and, with the help of a wonderful and patient staff member, I made an offer of $250, as is their policy. However, my receipt reflected a total of $299.99.Not to mention I purchased a beautiful link chain, making my total cost at the establishment $720 dollars.
When I noticed the discrepancy, I contacted the manager on duty, who had also handled the situation in-store that Saturday. Unfortunately, she was very rude, unpleasant, and had a horrible attitude. She abruptly slammed the phone down after telling me there was nothing she could do, and only a store credit was possible, stating she would never let the item go for that low a price. This was surprising, as I had previously purchased a similar bracelet for the same price six months ago.
I later spoke with the store manager, who was pleasant but unable to resolve the issue. I was hoping for an adjustment to the original price I believed I was paying. Even a credit towards my next purchase would have been satisfactory.
Despite years of positive experiences and the excellent service from some staff member who assisted me, this situation has left me disappointed. Due to the way this was handled, particularly by the first manager, I will not be returning to EZ...

Update (4/22/25) When I gave this review is when I brought my jewelry in for repair. I was told it would take 4-6 weeks. I still have NOT received repaired jewelry. I called in March & they told me it still wasn't done, they didn't have an ETA & to call back. I called back again today, & the lady told me it still has NOT been repaired & they still don't have an ETA. I've been waiting since January & the staff acts like they don't care. They keep telling me the ppl are backed up & they have no clue as to when I'm getting my jewelry back. This is ridiculous & for the staff to act like they don't care is a bigger problem. It's beyond frustrating & honestly, I feel like they want me to forget about my bracelet so they can keep it & resale it & then try & flip it on me & say I didn't retrieve my jewelry in a timely manner.
Final Update (4/26/25) Had to call Corporate to get my issue resolved. Turns out my bracelet was NEVER sent for repair & the lady I spoke to twice, not only dismissed my issue, but lied to me. My bracelet sat there for 3 months & Corporate had to call them in order for someone to do their job. My repair was taken care of within a day. Recent had a miss payment and called in trying to not get my item took and they said they could hold on to it for me until the day I asked them too which was only a couple days. Came in a day earlier then I told them and my item was wiped clean and put on the sales floor. Now they give me problems whenever I go in because of that one incident. Called them to check up on an item and they literally had me on hold for 15 minutes then hung up on me. Called right back and they finally helped me and it only took like two seconds. Wouldn’t go here again trying get all my things I got in there out and pray that I don’t fall on hard times again and need to go back here. The also slow as hell on the phone or if you go in the regular store they just messed up all the way around.
