219 Grounds — Restaurant in North Township

On 7/7, I stopped by for 2 macchiatos( 16oz and 4oz). The cashier gave me a menu and the presumed business owner both greeted me upon entering. As a first-time customer, I liked the vibe of the coffee shop. But unfortunately, my drinks were made incorrectly the first time. When I came back in to politely ask the younger lady, who was the cashier, for the 16oz to be fixed, one of the other female employees in the back, who presumably made the 2 drinks, made a face that made me feel slighted, like how dare I come back in and ask for what i should have gotten the first time. Thankfully, the cashier stepped in and remade the drink with care and professionalism. I really appreciated her kindness and respectful attitude. Great customer service matters, and I want to recognize the young cashier who made the effort to do things right. Overall the young cashier and business owner were very pleasant and kind as a new business in the area. I only hope that the other female employee in the back learns how to adopt the same attitude as they did.

Update: I didn't think to check the 4 oz macchiato for the caramel flavor and did not find out until I got home that there was also no caramel in the...

I’ve been looking forward to checking out 219 Grounds, and it didn’t disappoint. The couple who owns it is genuinely so sweet, and the whole place has a really welcoming vibe. It’s minimal, modern, and there’s tons of seating—perfect if you want to hang out, get some work done, or just enjoy your coffee without feeling rushed.

My husband got the iced Spanish latte and said it was really good. I had a sip and it was super smooth and just the right amount of sweet. We also picked up a bag of their house blend to try at home, and I’m actually excited to brew it tomorrow morning.

They also offer paletas, ice cream, pastries, paninis, and crepes—which all looked amazing. Definitely planning to go back and try more from their menu.

It’s right across the street from Purdue Northwest, so it’s a really convenient stop if you’re in the area. Honestly, just so happy to have a spot like...

I'm frequently in this area of Hammond, so of course as a coffee lover, I wanted to try out the new local coffee spot. From the location right across from Purdue College, to the convenience of the corner spot allowing easy in/out access of parking, this place seems to be a gem in the making! I've only had one drink so far, which is the Spanish Latte, and it was delicious! ☕️😋 Judging off that alone, and with my view of its potential, I give this business a solid 4🌟🌟🌟🌟!
