Lupitas Alterations — Local services in North Township

I needed a last-minute alteration for my dress and initially went to my appointment in Highland. I went there and after checking the dress, she told me that there’s nothing she can do for me. I asked her if maybe she can do a corset style like what I saw in YouTube. But unfortunately she said no and suggested that I should just buy a bigger size. (At the back of my head, if I can just easily buy a bigger sized dress, I should have done it already and save a trip) It was around 5:30 PM and my only day off for that week, I googled “Alterations near me” and Lupitas alteration was number one for my search. I called the number and unfortunately the phone wasn’t working. So I just have to drive myself there with my fingers crossed. I was immediately greeted by Lupita’s brother (who translates English to Spanish for Lupita) Lupita had me try my dress on and immediately said she can do a corset style if that’s fine with me. I was very happy because that’s exactly what I wanted in the first place. She said the dress will be ready in a week. It was a Friday and Wednesday, I received a text saying that my dress is ready for pick up! It was surreal given that turnaround time is at least (or maybe more than) a week. I tried it on and I was very happy and satisfied with the result! She also adjusted the neckline like I asked her to. I definitely recommend this place. They are very accommodating and pleasant, I paid $75. I love supporting small/ family business and this place is definitely the place to be! Do not recommend at all! I took some bell bottom pants that i wanted them to make them straight leg. I took a pair of pants to show them exactly how i wanted them, i asked if it could be done before i left the pants there, I got told yes. They took my name and number and told me they'll be ready on Monday any time! I go in there at like 11:20 they're still working on them as I walked in. Then they tell me they could not be done as straight leg as i wanted them because they're different material from the sample i took and that it would loose it's shape. But I'm sure they knew that the whole time they had them so what i don't understand is why they didn't call me to tell me that before they did something to my pants! They wanted to work on them more but i didn't have time to wait and definitely did not want to go back again, I still had to pay what they asked even though they didn't do the work they said they could do! Absolutely Thrilled!! My dress fits so great and I could not be more happy. Dress has a corset back with a zipper for the skirt part. Unfortunately I needed the skirt part let out. The zipper was shortened, the corset back fabric piece needed more fabric. Also took my Little's dress as well, her dress needed to be taken in as we purchased the smallest size we could. She's an itty bitty. You can not even tell her dress was touched, either dress actually!! I'll definitely be back to get alterations when needed for anything else.
