Joined up prior to opening and switched from Midtown. In common with other reviewers on here, I've been rather underwhelmed (for the price). My main quibble is that the marketing of this place is odd. We don't have kids, and find that many of the local Park District facilities are mainly designed around them; which is fair enough, and I'm glad they have great facilities to go to. When we looked at Northbrook, the salesperson that signed us up made a big play on how this club, by design, doesn't have a climbing wall, family pool, or a basketball court because they wanted to create an adult, spa-like vibe to a limited membership (hence the price). In reality I see the usual kid-centric approach, just without the infrastructure to support it. Half the lap pool is given to kids lessons and clubs during peak evening hours, and there's even a "Tween Takeover" event (shudder). If that's the reality, then why not go to the Vernon Hills club? That place has all the kid stuff (a large family pool, climbing wall, basketball courts) AND adult specific facilities (squash and racquetball courts, dedicated lap pool), AND it's $50 a month cheaper. Then my issue is that VH is too far for me to go regularly (which is why we didn't join there in the first place), so I'm wondering... do we just return to Midtown? Northbrook has a really confused marketing plan, that leaves me wondering who is it supposed to be for, and how is it supposed to justify the large on-cost vs. Vernon Hills? I'd also support the other comments on here about the crowded locker rooms and poor...
Read moreMy name is Olga. My English probably not good enough but I will try to tell you what I really don’t like and what I I like about lifetime. 1. Yoga classes ... terrible experience ever! Yoga instructors never shows what to do they just talk what to do... but hey excuse me if I’m new in yoga how can I know what to do and what is right... when I talked with them about it they said look to another people what they do.. hey than why I need yoga instructor in class if I can look to another people. 2) when I came there I said I just visit this area and we leave in one month and Sara manager ok no problem let me know what you want to do in one week. Yes I forgot about it this ... so this morning I just saw money withdrawal from my card and when I asked them why they said it’s for membership and when I talked to Sara and she says yes you didn’t come to me and didn’t tell me and she is remember what I said to her one month ago that I will talk to my husband and let her know.. yes she remember what I said to her month ago but she even not remind me or just asked me what I want to do... you b know just be nice... all they care it’s just about money 💰 what I really like it’s summer camp for kids.. and people who works there so nice my daughter really loves it.....
Read moreBeen a member for a week and joined with my wife and my 12 year old. I'll stay with the single fault I have and then the praise. Kids club great for little kids but 8 up is a no go. My 10 year old took one look and was like "no friggin way." Now to the good.... -Cleanest club I have ever been in and I've been to my fair share of them. From the workout floor to the locker rooms it is spotless. Equipment put away, no bad smells, steam room nicer than the 4 Seasons, etc -I've been with 3 trainers already. All 3 have been great. Motivating, professional, and the session my son who is 12 had with Mike was possibly life changing for him. -My wife got a massage and said the therapist, I think the name is Roman, was unbelievable. She knows what she talking about. -Brand new equipment that is top of the line. Also, there is a lot of it. You won't be waiting on others to finish.
It's not cheap but it's not LA Fitness. If you use it it's worth it. It's a Health Club not just a gym. Everyone working there I've met is pleasant. I've done Midtown which is great if you play tennis but this place is nicer in every other way. The outdoor pool is just as nice as...
