This is specifically directed at the Manager who worked the afternoon shift on 2/21. The rest of the staff had always been lovely and courteous. I go to this Starbucks all of the time. Not anymore because of the incredibly rude way I was treated by this manager.
I went through the drive through to pick up a tea I had ordered through the mobile app. When I drove up to the speaker no one greeted me, which almost never happens. I waited 30 seconds. Still nothing. I said, "Hello?" Nothing. I said "Hello," a second time. Still nothing. After my third hello, someone asked for my order and I gave it. I didn't get upset, I just gave it.
When I drove up to pick up my order, the woman handing it said, "Why did you keep saying hello?" I wad stunned. She then said, "We're busy with other customers and we couldn't get to you. You don't need to do that."
First, a simple "We'll be with in a moment" after the first "hello" would have been ample communication. I would have waited patiently after that. But when no one replies, I'm left to conclude that no one knows I'm waiting for my tea.
Second, someone in customer service who is a manager has no business giving a dressing down to a customer who spends a small fortune at Starbucks every year. I don't think I was being difficult, but for the sake of argument, let's assume I was. I deal with difficult people in my job. I respond by saying "That was not our intention, but how can I make it right." That is how onecdeals with difficult people.
Quite frankly, just handing my tea in this situation would have been more than fine. But instead I had to receive a lecture about my behavior. Unprofessional and quite frankly, demeaning and rude.
When i finally received my tea after I was scolded, I received very hot tea with no sleeve and no stopper. I had to place it quickly in my cup holder because it nearly burned my hand. On the drive, the tea spilled out because there was no stopper and burned my leg. Perhaps this person should have been more concerned with customer safety than customer berating.
I called to speak to the manager when I got home, only to find out that she was the manager. She doubled down, didn't address that I was burned, tole me she didn't care that I was a frequent customer and said "Fine." When I said I wasn't returning.
I mentioned this incident to the staff st the Starbucks in Deerfield road. They were appalled. They have always been outstanding and lovely. Go there. This Northbrook Starbucks...

Read moreTime to make a different Starbucks my daily go to. I’ve had enough no shots of vanilla when clearly asking and there is one worker who has never taken an order correctly. My recent experience was a let down. I was asked as to what I wanted in drive through and started with one drink that did not require any special milk and was asked if there was anything else to add and I said yes and added the same drink without an extra shot and raw sugars as I do in mine and asked for Oat Milk right at the beginning. I was getting two drinks and was told ok but was not given a total. Ended up paying a higher price then I normally pay for one drink but a lower price when ordering two drinks. I was rung up for my drink but now with oat milk. I explained that this is not what I ordered, ordered two drinks, and one must be without oat milk and one with. I was then asked as to which drink I want and the manager came out to window and said they would correct and explained what I ordered and did not understand why it was so difficult and was told to calm down. Manager brought my correct drink, apologized, I think credited my card, but was still left with one drink and not two. I then explained I ordered two as I have continued to explain and then just drove off because I could not take the level...
