The time had finally come for me to shop for a new sofa and chair set, so off my old sectional went to Salvation Army, and off I went to visit my 5th or 6th showroom which was Dania at their 40,000 sqft showroom in Northbrook, Illinois. There were hundreds of pieces of furniture … all set up and juxtaposed with other fixtures that coordinated at a noticeably higher standard of quality and compatibility. It was like visiting the Apple Store. The sales reps were confident in their products and proved it by forgoing the "hard sell' and instead they invited you to come to them should you have any questions or special requests. So, that said, ... I found a particular design of reclining couch and matching reclining chairs that spoke to me. It was mid Black Friday - Cyber Monday sales season, and Dania invited consumers to take advantage of the noticeably handsome discounts. NOW HERE's THE BEST PART. Beyond Dania's control, one of the manufacturer retail boxed pieces from the fabricating factory was delivered with a defect. I photographed the defect, sent the pictures to Dania for their records and was immediately assured that a replacement piece would be ordered immediately. The sales person was superb throughout, she treated me with the level of concern and fairplay that one usually reserves for family. I was sent a "loaner" piece (nice) and my replacement was delivered without issue within a couple weeks. My takeaway from this experience was 10 STARS OUT OF 10, because I learned a long time ago, that it's somewhat normal for a company to sell products and make deliveries and have things go as expected. But what truly sets a company apart is how they cope with the unexpected, how they make "good" of a tuff "situation", and how they instill confidence by respecting and reassuring their customers. So there you have it, a great company like Dania is still only as good as the folks who work there. I love my furniture, and will confidently visit there again, ......
Read moreNice furniture that looks good only in their store! They only deliver broken and damaged furniture. After having a horrible experience at their Lombard location decided to give this location a try. Ordered a bed, coffee table and a dresser. Was told a week later that the bed and coffee table will come as expected but will have to wait another 1-2 weeks for the dresser. After 4 days I called the store and requested that I will wait the extra 1-2 weeks but just bring all my furniture together so I don’t have to wait 2 times for the delivery people. The gentleman Bob on the phone told me that the dresser will come about 2 months later not the 1-2 weeks I was promised by Cynthia so maybe I should just take bed and the table for now and wait for the dresser. I called today asking that I will order a different dresser that is in stock and since they didn’t have any delivery window open for 2 weeks I will just pick it up. Then the saleswoman Cynthia told me that I can’t pick it up for 2 weeks Bc their warehouse is closed and I should take my business elsewhere. This is exactly what I will do and unless anyone reading this wants to be treated like dirt or animals I recommend you...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER FROM DANIA FURNITURE — THEIR TRUCK DRIVER RAN MY FAMILY OFF THE ROAD
This is not just a complaint, it’s a warning that could save lives.
On I-94 southbound, just past the Hixton, WI exit, a Dania Furniture delivery truck merged directly into my lane without warning, without checking, and without braking. I was in the left lane with no shoulder and nowhere to go. The driver forced me and my children off the road at high speed all to avoid the minor inconvenience of slowing down.
This wasn’t a near miss. It was a deliberate act of reckless driving. We could have been killed. The Dania truck never stopped.
This is who Dania Furniture trusts to represent their company and deliver their products; drivers who value their schedule over human life.
If you're thinking of ordering from Dania, don’t. Go pick up your furniture yourself. Don’t put your and other family’s safety at the mercy of a company that clearly doesn’t screen or train their drivers to share the road responsibly.
You’re not just risking scratched furniture you’re...
