Worst living experience ever. I have lived at Regatta for the last year and you couldn't pay me to continue staying here. My biggest negative concerns would be that this complex is extremely dangerous, completely over crowded and management has 0 concern over the tenants safety. My exterior hall had no lighting for over a month. Leaving me and my girlfriend having to come home to a pitch black hallway every night. I had to express my concerns to the management team multiple times, and I still wasn't taken seriously until my Mother nearly fell down a flight of concrete stairs. I had to finally threaten legal actions before anything was fixed. Another safety condition is apparently all the tenants have never seen a stop sign or have any regard for others safety. I like to walk my dog every morning and a few times in the evenings, I cant count the amount of times I have been almost hit. Luckily I am not a parent because i would never be able to let my kids outside to play with out fearing for their lives. My last safety concern, is that they call this complex a gated community, however, every morning I have groups of homeless men dumpster diving through the dumpsters on the complex. If you are like me and uncomfortable about identity theft then this is a major concern. I have to take all my mail now to work to throw it away cause somethings aren't safe enough just being shredded. Now that I am done pointing out the major safety issues I have had to incur, I would like to move onto the issues that are more of a hindrance then life threatening. Like the parking situation. Not only is the management aware that this is a major problem they haven't done anything to remedy the situation. If you work or get home after 6pm don't plan on parking anywhere near your apartment building. It hasn't been uncommon for me to have to park on opposite sides of the complex. I don't know about you, but for me when I get home from work, the last thing I want is to have to compete to find parking and then walk a hundred yards to get home. Leaving my car out of sit and unattended. Then waking up the next morning to have to walk another hundred yards to get back to my car, hoping that its okay and still there. Most mornings there are a bunch of cars that have just been parked in most the fire lanes, lining the entrances, and just in the middle of anywhere. One morning, there was even a vehicle just parked in the grass. I didn't plan on paying over a thousand dollars a month to live in a "gated community" that resembles a deep south trailer park. There are garage options for $100 a month, yet they didn't have any available that were even remotely close to my building. Furthermore, because of the overcrowded conditions the place resembles a new york street sidewalk. Even though there is a trash dumpster every few hundred feet no one here knows how to use one. Finally the hot tub and other amenities only worked half the time and were usually closed for maintenance. The Regatta establishment took on remodeling projects that were so poorly executed that it left the whole complex in a frenzy. In example; this last week they redid the parking lot. A project that was supposed to take a few hours a day, took all day and night leaving a third of the parking lot closed for the past four days. One night it took me 30 minutes to finally find parking off the street in a nearby neighborhood and another 20 minutes to walk home. I could keep going on and on about problems, like the possible meth lab in one of the back buildings, where the windows have been duck taped up with black trash bags or the buildings burning down, but you can come take a look...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe longer I stay here, the more I regret signing the lease. It was presented wonderfully...... When we first signed on, we had a vey polite girl named Alli who helped us. She was nice and all, but information was not correct, we found after we paid to hold the apartment. Fees were more than first explained and beware that part of your deposit is non-refundable. Read the small print. We asked if we would have a fireplace, we were told yes or a built in book shelf. We got neither. Our apartment had many things that needed to be fixed before we moved in, that did not happen and I had to deep clean the whole thing as it smelled a little funny. The pool was a plus, but most of the time the hot tub is either not working or its horribly dirty. Like food and trash (usually cigarette butts) floating in it. Parents use the hot tub as a kiddie pool. Speaking of, we signed on for a family friendly place, not a let your kids run wild. Children run around everywhere, as young as 3 years old by themselves. I've witnessed them throwing rocks at windows and cars. The office does not care. You pay a "community fee" of $40 a month for a pool that people smoke you out of. I mean, I'm fine if you smoke, but be courteous. The lease also says "no smoking in community areas". the pool apparently doesn't count, because they supply a cigarette disposal, not that it's used. Cigarette butts are everywhere. Many of our neighbors are rude to boot. Now to fees, they fee you to death. $40 a month CAM fee, $10 service fee. $50 for a gate opener for a gate that is broken quite often. Now if you are less than 24 hours late on your rent, be prepared. No mercy. Our rent was turned in the next morning, because they have no after hours drop and it was just a confusion of who was supposed to turn in the check. No discussion, $100 fee plus $10 per day (even if less than a day) and market rent charge back. We had the money, but really? We paid $200 in fees for less than a day late. Feeling the love and family friendly place to live? I feel terrible for those that were late because they really didn't have it because they were having a hard time. That would start a vicious cycle of always being behind on bills. And if you want to change apartments, it's cheaper just to move. They make you reapply- $50 each applicant, deposit $650, transfer fee $300, initiation fee $150. Dogs? $350 NON_REFUNDABLE each. So to move in a complex you already live in..... you might as well get a better rate elsewhere. Month to month may seem like a good price here, but with fees, it costs just as much if not more than surrounding apartments that have better ethics. I have lived in 4 other apartments in the north metro area, this is by far the worst in the way it is ran. I'll give them that the apartments are spacious, that's about it. And parking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Apartment staff doesn't give a decent amount of notice before they need to enter your apartment for maintenance, etc. One example-I received the notice at 9:00 pm when I returned home that they were coming the next day. I had no way of making plans to accommodate my pet, since they don't like strangers. I had to call into work the next morning so that I could be at the apartment so that nothing bad happened with my pet, this in my opinion is unacceptable, they should at least give a weeks notice so that you can prepare and make plans.
Also, the apartment community is supposed to be a gated community, but the gate is broken half of the time. At least half of the gate is always open allowing anyone to come into the complex outside of business hours. Thus, this apartment's rent is way to much for what they provide. Not only is the gate open more then half the time when it should be closed, but the apartment waters the lawn way too much, even if you wanted to go outside and sit on the grass you can't because it is always soggy wet. They water so much that by time I reach my apartment I am soaked. Likewise, the sidewalks are often puddled and thus causes them to be a slipping hazard.
In addition, some of the staff has been extremely rude and not helpful. Before I signed the contract I went into the apartment and it smelled like smoke, I had an instant headache it was so bad. I also noticed tobacco spit on the patio and in the storage closet that was not cleaned up and thus asked them to clean it up but they refused and never did. When I told them that I could not live in a place that smelled like smoke one of the staff acted like it did not smell and sounded inconvenienced when I said they needed to do something about that. Also, many things were dirty and broken that I had to point out to them. They fixed and cleaned some things but not everything. The staff does not seem like they care if the apartment is ready for new tenants. I also, had to clean inside of all of the kitchen cabinets as they were filthy-it took a long time (I expected them to be clean when I moved in but they were not). Furthermore, above the kitchen cabinets looked like it has not been cleaned since they first built the apartment, I had to go up there and scrape the dirt off, it was disgusting, but I had to do it because the apartment still smelled a little bit like smoke because of that.
Nice apartments, but management is subpar. Overall, I do not recommend renting...
