Don't try to buy from this company if you cannot have your order shipped to your billing address.
My house caught fire two weeks ago (I know, it sucks). I'm living in a friend's house. I found a new place but I have not moved in yet. As I will need a new access point, I know/like Ubiquiti products and I cannot find Ubiquiti locally, so I searched online. I obviously found it on Amazon but through third party resellers and on Solid Signal. As I wanted to get it fast, I checked all the resellers and as Solid Signal is in MI, it is closer to me (MA).
As I have no house anymore I placed the order and asked to be shipped to the company I work for with Attn to me.
So, I placed the order asked for UPS 2nd day shipping upgrade and forgot about it. Order #810774
Later, someone from Solid Signal called me telling me that the item I bought is a high fraud item and it could not be shipped to an address different from the billing address. I explained the situation to her but she insisted to ship it to my billing address. I told her again that nobody was living in the "rest of the house". She told me she would talk to her manager and call me back.
As I have not heard from them, I assumed everything was ok.
Later, I lookup on their website to see if/when the order has been shipped, I found out the order was cancelled. I called them and one guy confirmed the order was cancelled because of the fraud indication.
First - Thanks for wasting my time ... Second - Thanks for getting back to me and letting me know it was confirmed that I was a fraudster. Third - I don't believe fraudsters give you phone numbers in the US, answer the calls and call back to know the status of orders Fourth - I don't use any shady e-mail provider that would make it impossible for law enforcements to prosecute me in case the order was a fraud Fifth - The AVS came positive 100% sure Sixth - As you are very concerned about fraud, I believe you saved my IP address. I placed the order from the company you were shipping to with rDNS setup. I can't fake that! The IP is in the US and is assigned to the company. Seventh - The company address is in the US and with a simple Google Maps/ Street View seach you would see it is a commercial building with the company logo in the yellow sign Eigth - Thanks again for getting back to me. Ninth - Thanks again for...
Read moreThe Yagi HDB9X 70 mile outdoor Antenna is very well designed for assembly using wing nuts so fewer tools needed. Yes it is light and you must be careful not to bend its parts. However, it is possible to install on a 25 foot mast by one person, whereas anodized Weingards are heavy and difficult; and I have used 6 of those in past 45 years out here coast range of southern Washington state. The main reason I am reviewing this particular antenna is that I have always used pre amps on my antenna since repeaters are located for Seattle and Portland TV stations about 30 air miles away, and my location is in a forested area where rain and obstructions make amps necessary. This Yagi I placed on a 25 foot mast in a clear area where I also have a 2 bay bow tie which needs a channel master 7777 to receive signals. The Yagi should NOT have any pre amp booster at this 30 mile range. Absolutely NO RF signal showed up on my HDMI TV set. When I removed pre amp connection ALL the signals that showed up on the bow ties showed up on the Yagi. Look, I am an old analog guy still using a Sony cathode ray TV set with converter, and still record programs using my old Panasonic VHS recorder, but I never experienced losing all my RF analog signals in FM and VHF and UHF when over modulated or over loaded. With digital signals in UHF band it is different. With digital signals from repeaters in Willapa hills you do, so that should be described with these highly directional antennae.KB in Ocean...
Read moreDirectv customer here. Solid Signal has great prices but they try to scam you with these false activation fees. I have been a directv customer for 11 years and wanted to buy some older model receivers due to the type of dish i have. Solid Signal has these receivers listed for $99 on the website. After i placed the order i then get an email saying my directv account info is needed to activate these boxes so i call because this is considered a red flag as i never had this come up before on prior purchases from other companies. I speak with the guy who said this is needed since ATT took over Directv so i provided my account info which he verified i am legit. Then he says i am supposed to pay an activation fee per receiver. This is something i have never paid for EVER and i have personally purchased all of my directv equipment myself so big red flag here. He tried to charge me $150 per receiver for activation. So not only did i spend $212 for 2 receivers they were trying to get another $300 for this so called activation. I told him to cancel my order and i will do business elsewhere.
I called directv loyalty department and explained what I tried to buy and what Solid Signal tried to charge me. The rep confirmed that i do not pay activation fees. I will not be a returning customer with...
