Wanted to share our current ongoing nightmare experience. This is what $9000, and a 100% guarantee gets you. 2 rows of pipe, 3” and 4” “french drainage” system that was proven a 100% failure on January 30, 2025 causing the entire backyard to be under water. The landscape owner came out, tore up our front yard, dug 2 trenches so the water would drain from the backyard also killing the existing grass on Jan 30th, while our family is trying to shovel water in the rain into a wheel barrel to the front so it wouldn’t flood the house. After this fail drainage job, this company left us hanging, (not returning calls or texts) in a timely manner for over 2 months to correct this rip off job. We were insulted, blamed and disrespected. Told that it was my 86 yr old Dads fault, myself, it rained too much, we need gutters and our roof and neighbors are all at fault. Blamed everything under the sun when we never told this landscaping company the plans of how and what pipes, drains or materials should be installed or how much dirt should be removed or sloped to resolve the flooding concerns in our backyard. Why wasn’t my Dad told all this from the beginning! The slope of the dirt is all wrong. The pipes are too small. Water DOES NOT drain to the front what so ever. I have video it runs in the wrong direction. We have been lied to from the start. We were told to let the landscaper (owner) know about any issues and he would correct it. That is why he trenched the front yard because the drainage system he installed did not work! We were given a 100% guaranteed satisfaction that it will work, that we will be happy with the job and we had nothing to worry about! After the flood, we were told they were going to change the 4”middle pipe to a 6” and the 3” drain pipe along the lanai to a 4”. Landscaper changed the plans of what we were promised the day of correction on April 1, 2025 to only adding another pipe to the failed set up. So currently left with the drainage system proven to fail while also wanting another $1200 for their mistakes! Left the failed pipes in the ground and put completely different grass over the trenches and grass they destroyed. Paid a lot of money for something that doesn’t work and then get blamed...

Apparently, Google does not allow me to write another review on the same place without editing the first one I wrote for a different kind of service. So, here is my review for additional service recently completed.

We moved here 22 years ago and never updated our yard--imagine that.

After the tree trimming was completed a couple of months ago, I mentioned to owner, Susano Saoit, how stray cats chose our yard to use as their personal pooping station. He informed us of a particular kind of synthetic grass that cats cannot claw or dig through which discourages the cats from pooping here. Since my husband can no longer do yard work due to an illness, synthetic grass was the ideal solution.

Susano noticed our outdoor patio "floor" consisted of bricks which were unsafe to walk on due to natural shifting of the ground. Rather than covering the entire patio with synthetic grass, we opted to have the bricks removed. After prepping the bare ground, Susano's crew poured cement. That was a wonderful decision to make.

My husband had an old, unused pigeon cage that was dismantled and hauled away by the crew. After laying down the synthetic grass, the crew eventually carried a tool shed to where the pigeon cage once stood, allowing more open space on our patio floor. That was a monumental task in itself.

My mailbox and post were in need of replacement as well. Susano's crew previously cleared up the front section when they initially removed trees and shrubbery. On their last day, I happened to purchase a mailbox and post. This new "kit" was opened and the post was securely set with concrete (one of the guys ran out to purchase some to mix). Thank you, Jesus!

I 100% recommend Island Green for all your yard/landscaping needs. Susano was awesome at communication, he answered texts, phone calls, and was always very responsive. Susano was open to working with our budget and we were able to have concrete, irrigation, turf, plants, pebbles and grass installed for a very reasonable and affordable price. That just shows that he really cares about his customers and wants what is best for them.

Susano and his crew are very hard working, they showed up on the days they were scheduled, kept us updated throughout the days and cleaned up after themselves every day. Also, I know dealing with contractors can be a little intimidating, but I found his crew to be extremely friendly and easy to talk to.

Lastly, when we contracted Island Green, we explained to Susano that we had a tight deadline, about 2.5 weeks. He assured us that his crew will be able to complete the project on time, to which we were a little surprised, but trusted his word and in our favor, they were able to complete the project on time.
