Steven's Jewelry & Engraving — Local services in O’Fallon

I normally don’t leave reviews, but this one I felt was very important. A lot of us have mistrusts in different areas of our lives for different reasons. Which is my main reason for leaving this review… I have discovered that Stevens Jewelry and Engraving is the most HONEST of a jewelry store that I’ve come across to date! And I would have never been any wiser had this person try to ‘pull the wool over my eyes’. I want to give a shout out to Tom. He was the one in whom I dealt with, and the one in whom I found EXTREME HONESTY within… I drove 30 minutes to get to Steven’s Jewelry & Engraving and it was only by mere chance because as we all know, there are plenty of jewelry stores. The thing is that they all close about the same time, 6 PM where as Steven’s Jewelry & Engraving stays open till 7pm, which is why I went to Steven’s in the 1st. place. And I gotta tell you, after my encounter this evening with Tom, ‘Honest Tom’… I will always go back to this one jewelry store. And I will only deal with ‘Honest Tom’, for now anyway... I’m sure the whole staff is honest because we all know ‘birds of a feather stick together’, right? But for me, it’s because I initially met, dealt & discovered ‘Honest Tom’s’ unwavering honesty. I mean, SERIOUSLY, even though he had to have known I’d likely never know any better over such subtle differences…also, jewelry & precious metals aren’t exactly my specialty. Yet ‘Honest Tom’ was straightforward and 100% completely honest about everything that he told me. Yup! Unbeknownst to ‘Honest Tom’ ( unless he happens to be reading this review, in which case, hello 👋🏻 & thank you! 😃) has gained a customer for life with me !! So for any of my jewelry needs, I will be coming to ONLY Steven’s Jewelry & Engraving and I will deal with ‘Honest Tom’. I’m sure overtime, I will meet the rest of the staff and find that their honesty is just as unwavering, but to trust takes time unless you happen chance an encounter as I did with ‘Honest Tom’.

Lastly, to the owner of Steven’s Jewelry & Engraving, (which I am assuming is Steven)… you have a great person employed! From a customer’s standpoint, honesty is crucial, especially when talking about high priced items… people want to know that they are hearing all the truths & no BS. So to have an honest employee is 100% the most important thing we search for when hiring an individual, right? Well, in case you don’t already know it, you have that in ‘Honest Tom’! And as a direct result of his chosen honesty, Steven’s Jewelry & Engraving has gained a customer for life! I am & will always be willing to drive the distance to your store if that means honesty! WE LOVE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND STEVEN'S JEWELRY AND ENGRAVIING!! This is the ONLY JEWELER my husband and I will EVER go to. They are 100% HONEST. THEY HAVE GORGEOUS JEWELRY. We have used their EXCELLENT SERVICES many times; over several years, with old jewelry that I had collected over the years. Their prices are COMPLETELY REASONABLE. They go ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure you are DELIGHTED with their work and your purchase. They have even went so far as to resize a ring for me WHILE WE WAITED IN JUST A VERY FEW MOMENTS! We have NEVER LOST A STONE out of all the jewelry we purchased here. Old, worn pieces have been MADE NEW AGAIN! We even traded in several pieces of old jewelry and we were VERY HAPPY at how we were compensated for those old pieces. Recently our daughter visited from another state (military) and Steven's Jewelry was nice enough to repair a loose stone in her ring...WHILE SHE WAITED FOR 10 MINUTES! What jeweler does THAT? Plus, she had been to three different jewelers in two different states who told her they couldn't fix her loose stone in that particular setting! Steven's Jewelry even looked all over the world to find a ring for me that I had 30 years earlier and had traded in on a different ring. I regretted that trade-in for 30 YEARS and THEY FOUND A RING IDENTICAL TO IT! My husband happily surprised me with this ring for Christmas a few years ago and I cried my eyes out because I was SO HAPPY! I have worn this particular 30-diamond ring every day since I got it back. YOU WOULD BE CRAZY NOT TO USE THIS JEWELER; AND TELL THEM DEBBIE VERY HAPPILY...

Brought in a $17,000 ring to get resized and appraised. Went up there a few days later to pay and they admitted to not being able to find my ring. After finding it we’re told it’ll be done later that day, fast forward 2 days later, my fiancé called inquiring about the ring. When we’re told AGAIN they can’t find our ring and it still had to be appraised, so the jeweler asked her to send a picture of the ring to her personal phone so she could locate it.. ridiculous. After FINALLY recovering the ring 2 minutes before close on Friday we have it for a little over a week and a half and a DIAMOND FALLS OUT! Call up to inquire about the damage and Steven claims the resizing wouldn’t have messed with the prongs, and went on to say that if asked about replacing the prongs BEFORE the ring was appraised after resizing he wouldn’t have suggested any replacement prongs. But after further inquiring about the ring at least 3 prongs (not including the broken one) we’re needing a repair. And according to Steven if the resizing didn’t mess with the ring he clearly missed it, or just didn’t care enough to comment on it. Avoid the Jeweler at all cost, they don’t...
