oooooi! yeah so i dont even like food...
but standing there at the Two Local Girls counter, with shelves of the most amazing offerings... sandwiches of tuna, lamb with chutney; seasoned chunks of tofu; pasta and lemon; soups, salads... all so fresh, fully organic highly loved preparations all nicely wrapped...
well, i was standing there in the way.
i moved and was delighted to see for whom i had was beaming up at me as if i was a redwood saying "my! how did you get so tall!!" ...she was it so happens somewhat entitled to see me that way as in fact, she herself was quite short. we were old friends at first sight... our extremes of physical range standing as scientific proof that the food at Rocky's is so good it scrambles the minds of tall and short alike. and whats more, age has no power to diminish this planet-class culinary gravitation — i learned that my fellow gastronaut was 92 years old!
indecision suddenly snapped into sharp focus and i made my choice.
i couldnt keep from pickin up a classic Caesar salad (yes Virginia, there were anchovies in that perfect portion of dressing!) and a "loaded potato salad" with boulders of red and gold potatoes and hidden bacon chunks all dijonned down with sour cream and shredded cheddar dressing... right? mouth watering, i stopped in my tracks eyes fixed on a luscious morsel of organic coconut/almond milk vanilla tapioca pudding with fresh blueberries and a sweet red strawberry on top...
yes i did, and took it all to pay for it but... my EBT card was too early for Rocky's system, so... i guess i must've looked a little disappointed...
telling the clerk that i had a wholly insufficient amount of cash the bright faced young man smiled and said... "that's ok... thats all the cash you have? ...i tell you what, i'll take it. you can have the whole set for what you can pay..."

Read moreSnobby store with rude staff. I am a quiet, polite person, I don’t make trouble with anybody and three times now the staff has been rude for no reason. The first was a overweight Caucasian man who gave me attitude for no reason and the last was a young African-American man who did not allow me even two seconds to say thank you. He just contemptuously said “YOUR WELCOME,” and clearly he meant “You’re not thanking me quick enough!” Some people just aren’t cut out for customer service. Needless to say i...
