STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! I went in yesterday to transfer my service due to having spotty coverage. The guy at the Verizon Oberlin store (Devin R) assured me Iâd be better off with Verizon. I own my phone. Bought it directly from Apple. He told me there would be âno hard inquiryâ done by them. Turns out that today I get a notification from Equifax that he DID do a hard inquiry. Lies. He started off by saying itâd cost me $25.00 to switch to Verizon. Then 5 minutes later he says itâll cost $30.00. Then 5 more minutes goes by and heâs saying itâs now $39.99. He claims to have setup my phone at this point. Even takes my phone and dials âhis numberâ and then tells me it rang and Iâm all setup. More lies. My phone did NOT work. As soon as I walk out of the store my phone displays SOS mode. I have no service. This rolls into the next day (today). I rely on my phone for work. I explained this to him. Having issues with coverage is the reason I left my previous cellphone provider. All day today my phone still says SOS mode. I had to take off work early and go to the Verizon Corporate store in Elyria. They tell me that it was never activated and theyâre not sure what the guy (Oberlin Verizon store rep) did. Or what he charged me $39.99 for since he did NOT setup my phone. (Usually these retail store will charge a setup fee for activating your phone) Then they go on to tell me about my bill. Apparently the guy (Devin R) in Oberlin store added a Walmart + membership to my monthly bill (for an additional $10) WITHOUT MY CONSENT! He tells me my bill will be $60 a month. Yet I leave Oberlin Verizon with a phone without service. A promise of a $60 bill. (My bill generated today at $135) with additional subscriptions I did NOT agree to. Luckily the Verizon corporate store in Elyria was able to activate my phone after driving over to them. I attempted to call the Oberlin Verizon store just to be told from an off site call center that they couldnât connect me to that store. Nor were they willing to let me know the store managers name so I could speak with him about this. Essentially they shut me out. Making no offer to make this experience right. This store took $39.99 from me and didnât do a thing. They assured me Iâd have service. Yet never activated my phone. Told me to my face they would not run a hard inquiry on my credit yet they did. And claimed Iâd have a $60.00 bill. But my bill generated the very next day with subscriptions I didnât authorize. And MORE THAN DOUBLE IN PRICE ($135.00) than what they told me. Steer clear of this place everyone. MAJOR...
Read moreOutstanding customer service! After 5+ years of faithful service, my Google Pixel 3 finally died. I stopped into this Verizon location and was immediately greeted by Andrew. He ran several diagnostics and confirmed that my phone was no longer functioning. He recommended the Google Pixel 7 and explained all of the features. He then set everything up for me and even provided a $100 trade-in value for my old phone. I got a great new phone and received excellent service all around. Great job!
My only potential criticism is that there is no direct phone number to the store. Devin called me this morning regarding an issue and I have absolutely no way to call him back. A direct phone number to this door...
Read moreBecause of miscommunications with Verizon Wirelessâ Customer Service Representatives my sister and I had quite a go at trying to break off from my parents line to our own while taking advantage of the Buy One, Get One deals on the new iPhones. We were at this location multiple times for hours over the last couple days sorting everything out. Both Nate and Anthony were great. Weâd like to especially thank Nate for all of his help over the last few days! Kind, Reasonable, and more Patient than we could have ever asked for Nate always greeted us with a Smile and a âcan doâ attitude and made sure a solution was found that got us what we needed without risking loosing the promotional deal we were...
