I LOVE GO JUMP! I celebrated my 65th birthday on June 22. I had Chris as my tandem and Conner as my videographer. I am so glad I picked the Gold package because you forget some of the experience since it's such a sensory overload and goes by so quickly. Now, everytime I watch it, I tear up and cry at the same time.
Now, 2 days later, I feel like it was just a dream. So, I watch the video once more to capture the reality over and over again!
You see, I'm not a risk taker and I've now blown the minds of my friends and family along with my own. Who knew, I had this in me? I'm so glad I did this.
I've been in therapy with the intent of loving myself more, accepting who I am growing older and wanting to rid myself of fear. Well, evidently I just did that! Hallelujah! Happy 65th birthday to me!
While making my decision to jump, I read many, many reviews about your company. There were a ton of amazing reviews with several boasting about Chris. So, when I reserved my time, I asked for Chris.
When I showed up, I asked for Chris as I don't think he actually got reserved for me as I had asked. But I did get him and was so glad. He was friendly, caring and pumped! He's had about 8400 jumps, so he's darn great at this and knows what he's doing. He made me feel safe knowing I was in very capable hands.
Conner, the videographer, was fantastic as well. He made me laugh, bobbled his head often for some video selfies and gave me the fabulous memory gift in video format.
You guys are awesome and offer such a great gift to those looking for a great adventure. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I would like to share some things that would've helped my experience, though. I would've liked knowing how the shooting of the experience was happening, meaning... knowing that the wrist cam was shooting constant pics and video along with Conner's shooting doing the same. I was distracted by all the excitement that I didn't look into the wrist cam much or take note of where Conner was flying. So, there were a lot of shots of the back of my head. Don't get me wrong, I got a sufficient number of great shots! There were just so many repeated shots of the same thing...Chris's arm, my hand or the back of my head since I was not often aware of where the cameras were. Maybe just something you can mention to the instructors to tell their people before taking flight.
Physically, there was only one problem I had, which was not being able to clear my ears during free fall. I would've liked knowing that having to equalize my ear pressure may be needed. Being caught up in the rush of everything, I had no clue I could've stopped the excruciating pain at free fall by pinching my nose. I am aware of this from scuba diving but again was not expecting this and my first inclination was to just cover my ears which I didn't do nor would've helped. But thankfully, this subsided once the chute opened. I've heard there aren't many people who experience ear pressure but just getting this information ahead of time would have come in handy.
Thanks again to your wonderful crew inside and outside of the plane! You made this girl have the best birthday of a lifetime!
Just so you know, I will be sharing this review on the email I received for follow-up.

Even if you shy away from the "sudden drop" rides at amusement parks or is afraid of heights.
It is really three amazing experiences in one:
FIRST, you ride on the plane to get to 13,000 feet. The plane has a large opening, like a garage door made of Plexiglas. It is open most of the time, meaning you have a wide, completely unobstructed, and spectacular view of everything while you feel the wind.
SECOND, shortly before your jump, you are secured tightly to the instructor wearing the chute and, if you are wearing glasses, you get tight-fitting goggles over them. You feel completely safe. They know EXACTLY what they are doing. My first jump was my instructor's 8,316th jump (kid you not). Then you simply grab your harness, swing your legs outside the aircraft and fold them under the aircraft, lean your upper body back towards the instructor and as you do that, they slide you out of the aircraft. There is no sudden drop feeling in your stomach, nothing unpleasant at all. There is also no fear of heights because the view is like looking out of a plane window, not like standing on a roof. Suddenly you are just falling through the air, and it feels as natural as being in water. After a few seconds, the instructor will tap you on the shoulder to indicate that you can spread your arms out. The noise from the wind is thunderous and it is an amazing thrill ride that lasts 45-50 seconds.
THIRD, the chute is deployed and then you suddenly feel like a bird. Obviously, you are still falling through the air but because the speed is now so much lower, you do not really sense that. There is no noise anymore, you can talk to your instructor and simply just take in the breathtaking views as you slowly glide down. Shortly before landing, you pull up your knees and you both land on the instructor's legs and then you immediately put your legs down. It is easy.
It is an amazing experience and there is a parallel universe in which there are no drug addicts because people will simply go skydiving when they want to get high. Try it!

Β Β Β Read moreA word to the wise, do NOT make the same mistake I made when deciding to jump out of an airplane. DO NOT wear a collared shirt. As soon as we pushed out of the plane and began the freefall to 120 mph, the collar on my shirt started ferociously snapping at my neck like a red-hot tattoo needle. It was all I could do to clear & redirect my thoughts and mind to what I was experiencing, a spectacular view of San Diego from 13,000'....12,000'...11,000'!! I want to give an extra shout-out to my tandem jump guide Adrian Bond, whose calm, cool & collected attitude, and plain explanation and directions reassured the easyness and confidence I had going into my first jump. No lie, there were butterflies in my stomach as my legs were dangling out of the plane and I was looking down at San Diego from 13,000'. "Let's Rock 'n Roll!!" is what I shouted as Adrian asked, "Are you ready?" And, head first we rolled out. As the chute deployed, peace and tranquility immediately replaced the chaotic sounds and rush (and, that damn snapping collar peppering my neck) of freefalling back to earth. Then, a gentle glide to our landing spot with the hugest views of beautiful San Diego. I've done plane & helicopter tours, and neither is as exhilarating. This experience was our daughter's 18th birthday wish. I wish to thank everyone at Go Jump Oceanside for making sure it was safe and memorable for a lifetime! With 100% confidence I recommend Go Jump Oceanside to anyone who is considering checking off this bucket list activity. A couple other things to point out are how impressed we were with the check in process, the reception office, the waiting lounge area, the merch, etc. Watching the team at Go Jump Oceanside reload the chutes was really cool, too. This was a true 5 STAR experience for our family. Live life to the fullest; Go, jump...
