Our family has had such a positive experience with CPCMG Sanford in Oceanside/Vista, specifically with Dr. Perkins, Dr. Miller, NP Mattis, and all the nurses on the off hours nurse line. They take great care of our kids and we feel cared for and supported as parents, too.
When discussing or making decisions for our kids that can be considered controversial or complex (e.g., safe sleep, frenectomies, breastfeeding challenges, etc.) Dr. Perkins has been both candid, transparent about her reasoning, and deeply respectful. We love that balance.
Speaking of Dr. Perkinsâsheâs our kidsâ PCPâshe is very respectful intelligent, competent, candid, collaborative, down to earth, normalizing, keeps up with the research (which Iâm always so impressed by with generalists cuz there is so so much to keep up with!!!), thinks proactively about prevention and management of health things, shares, helpful and creative ideas about general wellness and developmental stuff, has no weird ego about referring out to specialists or learning new things as they arise, and is so loving with our kids. Sheâs been great at building rapport quickly with us, too. She responds very well to our âparent crazyâ that wants to tell her all the gratuitous details of all the things about our adorable children in a time limited appointment (lol). The best bonus thing: She picks up on when we need reassurance as parents and we leave feeling known, less stressed, and affirmedâwhich is awesome. Oh and, as a human, sheâs just fun! Itâs easy to laugh with her. And parenting needs laughter!
We love the off hours Nurse line!!! It has made a world of difference to our parental anxiety. All the nurses weâve talked with have been fantastic.
Actually, all of the folks weâve seen for sick visits/urgent care have been great. Really respectful of our kids, reassuringly thorough, willing to explain options, and work with us around our needs in intervention decisions.
One of the things I love most is that the group practice environment is clearly healthy⌠The turnover is exceptionally low, and the staff clearly love their jobs and love working together. They work really well together as a team. I think this benefits client care so so much.
Their turnaround time with MyChart Messages is fast and helpful. We really feel we have access to our doctors whenever needed.
Our experience doing our sonâs circumcision with Dr. Miller was profound. Allowing us to be there during the procedure, the way he played music during the time, and the deep respect and sanctity that he brought to the thing touched us in ways we didnât expect. It meant a great deal.
I think the biggest downside has been that the specialists Sanford refers to often are quite a long drive from North Vista. That said, the care weâve received with the specialists has been excellent, which makes us feel better about the long drives.
Thank you,...
Read moreIn an attempt to provide a comprehensive overview, I would like to begin by stating that I have been accompanying my mother to my sisterâs appointments since she requires assistance due to a severe knee injury that impairs her mobility. We have consistently enjoyed our visits to Radys, as my sister has ADHD and Radys has consistently demonstrated unwavering support and a genuine passion for working with children. However, this particular visit deviated significantly from our previous experiences. We have always received exceptional care from nurses like Myra and Britney, who have consistently been more than wonderful towards us. In contrast, this nurseâs demeanor was entirely unpleasant. From the moment she approached us, it felt as though we were being rushed and judged. My sister, of course, found it challenging to concentrate, and we opted not to undergo a vision or hearing test, not due to her inability, but because our nurse, Maria, lacked the necessary patience for my sister. She made minimal effort to engage with her and easily abandoned the task, often uttering the phrase âItâs fine, we can just do it next year,â in a rather rude manner. My sister could clearly sense her demeanor and subsequently became withdrawn. When it was time for the vaccinations, my sister was already visibly distressed and anxious. Maria did not even attempt to comfort her, merely asking, âReady?â which my sister clearly was not. I am uncertain whether she was fully aware of her actions, but when she cleaned the area where the vaccine would be administered, she did not wait until it had fully dried. Instead, she wiped the area and proceeded to administer the shot. My sister reported that the injection caused a stinging sensation, and she developed a small bump on the day after the procedure, which eventually subsided. While I cannot definitively determine if she was merely having a bad day, I firmly believe that if one is unhappy with their profession, it may not be the right fit. Regrettably, what was once a positive and enjoyable visit to the doctor for my sister has now been marred by...
Read moreShowed up for my daughters drs apt today. The rude lady up front asked for my insurance card which I gladly handed over. She stated she needed to verify my insurance (which they already had on file) and asked me to take a seat. Approx. 20 minutes later I was called up to the front desk. She stated she had verified my insurance and everything was fine but due to me being past my appointment time that I would have to now reschedule and wait until JUNE for a new appointment. How is that my fault that you are inadequate at your job and didnât verify the insurance that you already had on file(I asked and she said they already had it)! I will not be taking my kids back to this office. Not to mention, they never answer the phones and the people sitting at the front desk always have a crappy attitude. If you donât like your job, get a different one! Such a shame because the doctors are great but the office...
