Update: they did fix every thing eventually and provide a loaner car twice.
Wow! Where do I start? Always nice and courteous and at least apologetic for the problems, but this is ridiculous. Took a 2020 Edge in for a "Power Train System Fault" and a squeak and a rattle from around the moon roof. First of all, I had to make an appointment for three weeks later (with the PT fault even.)
It gets picked up and was then told 6 to 8 days before it would be looked at.
Day 7 - called to tell me that we have the problems figured out and the cost. The PT fault needed to replace a BCM, and the squeak was going to require a full disassembly of the interior upper of the car to resolve. We were going to be out of town for the weekend and part of the next week, so I told them to take their time. When we returned a week later, the car wasn't ready yet and would not be until after the following weekend. It's now been there for 16 days. Was told that all rattles and wind noise are now gone.
Get the car back on day 19 at cheaper than originally told (yay!), but I notice that the moon roof still squeaks. It's better but still a definite squeak. There is also a piece of weather stripping to the sun roof that isn't attached and hanging loose. We began noticing some odd things with the Sirius radio and phones, but I was hoping that it would work itself out.
Car goes back on day 20 for the squeak and detached weather strip, and they go back to work on the squeak and detached weather strip. Day 22, I go to pick up a loaner car for the weekend because I have been without my vehicle for now over three weeks. It is detailed and returned to me on Monday (day 26).
When I get the car back, the noises are all gone, and I wasn't charged for the most recent work. Within an hour, the dashboard shows a PT fault message, and I get the same on my FordPass app.
Back we go. They keep the car for 3 days but can't replicate the fault or find anything in OBDII. Return the car to me on now day 30.
Driving around Midland, the sun visor falls off (had to pull the headliner down to fix the squeak). Now it goes back to get that fixed. On day 36, I get the car back again.
However, Sirius XM won't remember the channel presets when I turn the car off, and Voice Commands tells me that no phone is connected even though it is paired and connected. Whenever I turn the car off, it forgets all phones that have been paired. In addition, there is some wiring hanging out from under the dash.
From Feb 29 until April 5, I have had my car for less than one day total. As soon as I get it, I am finding something that didn't get fixed correctly or broken in the process of fixing the previous time. It is now going back next week for the fifth time.
Pros: They have done a fair amount of work for free (including some that they didn't have to). Detailed the car nicely when returning at least once maybe twice. Concierge pick-up and delivery...
Read moreFirst time buying a new vehicle, and I ask about interest rate. Finance says it'll be 2.7 and shows me with the amount I'll pay each month. I was surprised but absolutely grateful (He's the expert. Why would he lie it's unethical? And I have good credit). When the bank bills me, the interest is nearly 10. Sewell finance guy lied, and I fell for it. If he had simply told me he was unsure about interest or had been more honest, I wouldn't have agreed to a loan or a car where more than half the monthly payment goes to interest. Because I'm not wealthy. These things DO matter to me. He also tells me I need the tire warranty because apparently his daughter hit ever nail and curve on the road and I guess since I'm a woman, surely I need it, lol (I have a spotless driving record). After 2 years of waiting for the car, I feel shame for being duped into accepting a loan for a new car... This guy was no help , and Sewell hasn't been too responsive, though there's probably nothing I can do, and that's probably why that guy lied about the interest. Because there's no consequence even though I trusted him and Sewell and thought they were being earnest since the dealership is so nice and they try to keep a good image . I feel so sad and cheated after waiting my whole life to buy a new car.
Update: Sewell Ford manager did reach out, mysteriously after I posted this. Sewells answer was a very empathetic: our guy didn't say that (he doesn't remember) even though he said it to you and your husband. We understand you interest is WAY high. That's probably because this is the 1st time you've bought a new car. You can try and refinance on your own. We can't help and only work with certain banks.
Of course, this is very upsetting that they give me calls to make it seem like they're concerned when the result is not holding finance accountable when they lied to me and I made a decision based on that lie. I absolutely regret this entire process and it is the worst. Please be careful with this type of dealership, especially if your feeling a little vulnerable, intimidated, and it's your 1st time buying a new car and no one in your family has ever bought a new car so there's no reference to the experience. This place looks very nice but transparency and your best interest is not...
Read moreWe purchased a vehicle here at Sewell. We noticed some things wrong with the vehicle, call the guy who helped us with the purchase. He was great with it took the car in right away, gave us a loaner which I appreciated.. I was having AC problems and a hood problem with my car. Three weeks into them having my vehicle I had not heard anything about what was going on. I called to check on the status of my vehicle, and nobody knew where my car was.. spoke to the service center manager. She cannot locate my car and eventually they found my car.. did not know if any work had been done on it, within a week I finally get my car back. The hood was not fixed they gave us some story about the AC because it is still the same. They took my car to a local dealership that sells this make. Sewell dealership told me that the AC was fixed and the hood was adjusted. I finally get my car back after a month that it was gone. My husband noticed that almost 200 miles was added onto the vehicle., which we can understand some miles will be put on, but not almost 200 miles A few days later, I’m looking for a pen in my vehicle I look in the center consul and found a male enhancement pill package, that apparently whoever was having a joyride in my car left that in there. I went up to the other dealership that worked on my car. The only work order that they had was AC work, but no work order for the hood. Soon as I got there, they looked at my hood adjusted it Spoke to that general manager, and he assured me that none of his guys leave with a vehicle. I have been trying to get a hold of a general manager there at Sewell dealership And keep getting sent to other managers The one thing I am more upset about is whoever was having a joy ride in my car and left that package. What if this person had my car and was stolen? What kind of answers would I have...
