We had the most horrible service at the Saltgrass in Odessa, TX last night!!! To start it off after waiting 45 minutes (which we expect on a Saturday night), we here told we where next to be seated, I saw the list myself and there where 7 other parties listed below my name to be seated. SO….after waiting ANOTHER 30 minutes we go in to check what’s going on to find out my name was removed from the list (as I was able to see the tablet and my name was no longer there) and all the other parties that where after us where already seated! I requested to see a manager the manager came and stated your table is now finally ready, let’s get you seated! No explanation why my name was passed over!!! Now remember this is now close to closing time and there where only 4 tables left once we where seated! It took 20 minutes to get our drinks and appetizer ordered, we then ordered our food! Nothing we ordered was complicating, We ordered a kids chicken finger, a hamburger and the fish. Why after an hour of waiting (from when we ordered) did we have to ask where our food was at! The manager came to our table again and said our food was ordered only 24 minutes ago and it was about to come out! At this point we are extremely mad and tell him to pack up our food and give us our ticket! The waiter comes to the table with our ticket (with only our drinks and appetizer listed) and NO FOOD! (I was not requesting anything to be compensated, we just wanted to get out of there as it was almost 10:30pm) We where wanting to pay for the whole ticket including our food we ordered!!!
One of our guest said they still would like their burger and where was it! The service brings the burger out in a plate (again we said to pack it up) with nothing on it! It was just a burnt plan cheese burger!!! No sides, not even the French fries!!!
So we left the burger on the table, left with no food, paid our bill, and as we walked out we could see rhe servers now in the kitchen eating MY food I ordered and request Togo!!!!!!
We love Saltgrass and eat here several times a month!!! But this is just totally...
Read moreWe just moved to Texas and we were looking to celebrate our new home purchase at a nice steak house. My husband's coworker advised him to go anywhere but Saltgrass, saying it wasn't what it used to be. But we tried it anyway,as our hotel is across the street. We waited over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us after we were seated, another 10 minutes for drinks, had to ask for waters after our alcoholic drinks were served (and you guessed it, we had to wait another 10 minutes, for water!) Ordered, then after we ordered they came back and said they were out of kids pizza, my son is a picky eater and we ended getting him the chicken tenders (that were over cooked) and he only ended up eating his french fries. Our appetizer came out 5 minutes before our food and they completely forgot about our salads. Once we got our food, no one came back to check on us, to see if we needed anything, any condiments, or if the food was ok. Nothing. A manager took our drink order, someone else brought them, someone else took our order, we didn't even know who our waiter was, it was just people taking turns at our table, no one introduced themselves, just very confusing and just again, very poor service. Finally a waitress came by, when we were half way done with our food, I believe the reciept shows her name was Kyla and I told her they forgot our salads, she laughed and said "oh well, at least you don't get charged for them"... I replied, well something should be discounted off of our bill, to which she laughed off and said "I wish". Horrible, horrible, horrible service! Beautiful restaurant, but the lack of hospitality and service pretty much ruined such a wonderful and exciting day for our family. Never will come back here again as they didn't even care to make it right and we were made feel invisible from the moment we were sat down at our table. $100 waisted. Never again. Just feels like...
Read moreMy recent visit to Saltgrass restaurant in Odessa, TX, left a bitter taste in my mouth, figuratively and almost literally. Despite making early reservations for a party of 8, our dining experience began sourly. Upon arrival, we were met with an unexpected and frustrating surprise - our reserved table wasn't ready. Instead of accommodating us in a clean and welcoming area, the staff attempted to seat us in a neglected and unsanitary part of the back of the restaurant. The state of the surroundings was alarming, with dirt and grime clearly visible, making us question the overall hygiene standards. Hoping for a resolution, we approached the restaurant manager to express our concerns. However, his response was shockingly dismissive. Rather than addressing our valid complaints, he casually suggested lowering the air conditioning, as if adjusting the temperature could magically transform the unappealing dining conditions. This lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction was deeply disappointing. Throughout the meal, the service continued to disappoint, with the waitstaff displaying a lack of enthusiasm and attentiveness that one would expect from a reputable establishment. As for the food, it failed to compensate for the overall disappointment. The steaks, supposedly the restaurant's specialty, were overcooked and lacked the flavorful appeal we had anticipated. The sides were equally uninspiring, making us question the effort put into their preparation. In conclusion, my experience at Saltgrass restaurant in Odessa, TX was marred by poor service, an unresponsive manager, and subpar dining conditions. I would strongly advise potential diners to explore other dining options in the area, as there are undoubtedly better choices available that can provide a more enjoyable and satisfying...
