Hopdoddy Burger Bar — Restaurant in Odessa

Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Nice looking & Clean Storefront with easy parking. Called at first that was a bit confusing, until the telerobot sent me a link that made ordering very easy, the app sent to me had great pictures & descriptions of products and scrolling down to choose what ingredients to add or subtract to your burger and a section for special instructions. Filled in name & credit card information and placed the order easily then immediately received a confirmation # and a time the order would be ready for pickup. This is where things went awry. I arrived at the specified time and the order hadn't been started. I was asked to take a seat and the order would be ready in a little while. I had waited about ten minutes when a young man came from behind the counter and asked me my name to check on my order. He apologized for the delay and reassured me the order would be ready soon. So, another ten minutes goes by and the young man who must have been a manager. I think his name was Josiah Diaz as that was the name on the receipt, approached me again with a receipt to show me that he had refunded the order back to my cc, and again apologized for the delay. Since he was so conscience & nice I gave him a twenty and he put it in a tip jar to share with the other employees. He then goes and sacks my order and brings it to me. I take it home a 10 minute drive away and the regular fries and sweet potato fries were cold ( but tasted very good) and the burgers were barely warm ( but were delicious, one was a traditional cheese burger and I ordered the Bacon Jam Double with the sauce on the side. I should have had the sauce put on the burger as it was delicious). However, for the orginal price, I was shocked at how small the burgers were. However, I really can't complain as the order was comped. The interior of the restaurant was upscale with an open layout and peaceful ambience and very clean. The staff was courteous and professional. I think dining in would have been a better experience...

Overall the food, drinks, and atmosphere were on point. I had the Ahi Tuna as a bowl. While brussel sprouts were really good, they were the most salty brussel sprouts I've ever had in my life. It was pretty clear that the cook was seasoning to their preferences and not to the recipe. There was just so much salt on those brussel sprouts. I would have been happy with an eighth of the amount of salt that was put on those sprouts ... The tuna was excellently prepared and tasted great. When ordering we found it disappointing that they did not allow me to choose which brussel sprouts I was allowed to have with my ahi tuna. They wanted to charge me for an extra brussel sprout order just to have the brussel sprouts I wanted. The person at checkout also tried to overcharge us for the mixed drinks. I ordered the cinnamon sugar shake with screwball peanut butter whiskey, the shake was very good; however, on their menu it shows that adding a shot of whiskey to the take is $3.25, and they rung us up for $6 for the shot of whiskey. The large menu doesn't do a great job of showcasing their ordering process to ring up your order as the two groups in front of us, in addition to the issues I mentioned previously, all had issues when ordering and it was clear that the two people taking our orders were frustrated at having to explain the 'proper' way to order from their menu... I don't understand why we are unable to choose which type of fry or brussel sprouts we can have with our tuna bowl, even if that would mean a small upcharge. Compounding this with the super salty sprouts both my coworker and I received, made for damper on what would have been a great first experience at...

First time here. Sat at the bar for drinks before ordering. Katelyn was great! Getting a second drink proved to be near impossible! I have bartended and know that your first priority is customers at your bar. They were also filling drinks for the restaurant. In my mind, one bartender should take care of the bar, and one the restaurant. Once the bar is taken care of, that bartender can help with restaurant drinks. A new bartender came on shortly after we got there. I had my drink up at the top of the bar for another drink. It sat there for over 10 minutes without service because Katelyn was gone. When my Husband tried to wave the black haired bartender down. She gave him a look that should have turned him to stone and she took care of the restaurant instead of my drink. Once Katelyn came back she refilled my drink. The attitude from the black haired bartender was very obvious. Her hair was in 2 braids that ended in a pony tail. I hope you don't have to deal with her. When I go out I want to be treated like I treat people, with courtesy and attention. We had some fries with parmesan and truffle, and the Brussel sprouts. They were awesome. Unfortunately, the attitude at the bar negated our opinion of the whole visit. Again, Katelyn was awesome! I won't go back and advise you to take...
