Flipped Breakfast & Brunch — Restaurant in Odessa

Waited a long time for my food the waitress got my order wrong. I asked to sub avocado for the ham and turkey in my sandwich to not be charged extra. It's 10$ for a sandwich missing the meat. To be charged an extra 75 cents is rediculous. I asked for the avocado when my sandwich didn't come with it after waiting for the server to swing back around.... hungry and she tells me they can't do that so I told her she could have the sandwich back she then replied I'll ask the manager. Took about 5-7 mins before they came back out I'm still waiting for ranch dressing. The manger admits the meat cost almost 4$ while trying to explain to me she can't sub avacodo even tho I do this everywhere I go like Panera my entire life this is the first time I'm hearing this. I working in the restaurant bussiness for 12 years at the capital grille. I'm the wrong person to feed a line too. I know better. She said she would do this time but you never make a customer fell like an incovience. The answer is always yes. She then unprofessionally stormed off with an attitude like ok well whatever. I was still nice explaining no it feels weird I'm not asking for a favor here. She barley made an effort to change my experience. Proving my point more the customer service could improve. Between her and the waitress didn't feel appreciated as a customer. If you mess up my order and make me wait 15mins to eat my food. Had eggs Benedict and they did not sit well with me and tasted terrible actually. First time in at least 5 years I’ve sent something back and the waitress asked with the strictest face (she was not happy that I did not like it) if I wanted to take it to go and why did I not advise her sooner. I explained that she had not been back to our table since she brought the food (Drinks we’re empty this was about 25 minutes at least) so I could not tell her it was bad. She explained that everyone else loved it and left it on the bill. Burnt pancakes and cardboard potatoes are not acceptable. She then explained to other waitresses how I rejected the food in an unapologetic way and continued her shift. I left fairly upset with one bite of food in my stomach. As a manager if people leave your restaurant in this manner and your staff didn’t care it’s obvious this place needs help from nightmare kitchens. UPDATE Dec 2020 return. Great breakfast both in taste and size to fuel our return home (6 hrs driving). I got the blueberry french toast special which includes a meat side choice and two eggs. WOW! Way too much food. SHE who cashes my retirement check got a large breakfast as well. So plenty of leftovers. Well done. Virus mitigation efforts in place so a safe place to eat. We came back as hotel wasn't serving breakfast anymore due to virus mitigation. First visit (Dec 2015) based on Yelp reviews. Tried the egg white omelets. See photos. Prompt service and available table on Sun in Dec 2014. Courteous and friendly staff. Worth another visit. Omelets so large I would consider order one and split it with table partner. Depending on your table beverage; coffee, water, soft drink they leave a carafe at table so you refill on your own.
