Susie's Asian Grocery & Deli — Local services in Odessa

I went here for the first time this last weekend. Friendly people, lots of inventory, and the food cooking in the back smelled delish. However, I was scheduled to be somewhere so I had to leave. Good thing though, because of the 9 things I bought, 6 foods were expired. Some by a couple months, some by several months, and one by a whole year and a half. I found some things I wasn’t able to find since I was back home, Guam, but it tasted funky. So I checked the date and that’s when I realized it was expired. Upon checking everything most of my stuff went in the trash. I don’t know if I’ll return, but if I do I will definitely check everything before I choose it. I usually do, but I was in a hurry. For that being my fault, I gave more stars than one. However with that much being expired in one purchase, it is still on them as well because clearly they don’t check their inventory or they just don’t want to...

This place is super special. Mrs. Susie is such a sweet person and and amazing cook and entrepreneur. I’m a transplant from Los Angeles and part Filipino, but don’t know anything about my heritage. She took the time out of her day to come out of the kitchen and talk with me and ask me about me and where I’m from and about my family. It’s like the minute I started talking with her my heart filled up with love for her and this grocery store. It’s more than just a store it’s a place for family and Mrs. Susie makes you feel like family and feeds you some bomb diggy food that makes you feel like your momma is cooking for you. Driving around Odessa, I stumbled across a nic little Asian grocery and deli market. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Visiting from Orange County, I often shop at Asian markets. Here, they have a nice selection of dry Asian noodles and other ingredients. I picked up a to-go order of noodles for later. Their deli selection is primarily Filipino food, but they will make a few other Asian recipes upon request - like shrimp fried rice.
