Giving this Cici's only one star due to their biggest downfall: customer service. It was the manager that rung us up, but he did not greet us nor did he say a single word to us. Not even when I said thank you when he handed me the receipt.
Add on top of this, when we went back up to the counter to verbally request a custom pizza he rudely pointed at the counter on the other side of the establishment and sarcastically told us we had to write down the request. No big deal, because apparently making a verbal request for a Mac & Cheese pizza when no other employee is making a pizza is clearly too difficult to remember.
Well, the lack of customer service didn't stop there. When we turned in the written custom order, the lady at the counter (like the manager) did not greet us and simply took one look at the paper, grabbed a slice of pizza, and haughtily went to the back. No acknowledgment, not a word. Once again, the manager was involved as he was the one who made our pizza, but started on it only after staring at us with a detestable glare. However, he chose to make two pizzas before starting on ours (side note, there no spots to put these two other pizzas under the warming cases). Then oh my goodness, he finally started on it. I'd like to make a side note that later on, when a younger, attractive, busty female placed her order he started that right away.
As a final coup de gras, when we asked the lady from earlier if she could exchange our dollar bill for some quarters, she rudely stated that she couldn't open the cash register (because it's apparently too much to ask the manager to open it just to exchange some quarters). Of course, we waited for the manager to become available to ask him to do the exchange. Alas, once again we were not talked to during the entire transaction. Does this guy even know how to talk?
Now the cleanliness of the store would be the "best" thing about it. For the most part, tables were kept clean and wiped down in a timely manner. I will give props to the gentleman that was clearly in charge of keeping the establishment clean as he was always found busy clearing off tables shorty after a customer left or finding something else to clean (as you are supposed to in a restaurant).
Suggestion...
Always greet your customers. Every manager should know that greeting a customer is the easiest way to retain customers. Retaining customers increases revenue. Customers that feel like they were given poor service will never come back. They also let others know how badly they were treated, and boom this becomes an exponential equation that turns into losing more and more potential customers. Simply retaining 5% of the customers that would've walked out could increase your revenue 25% or more.
Talk to your customers when they talk to you. At least acknowledge them and what they say. This ties back into the previous paragraph. So not much needs to be said without repeating.
This manager needs to take a simple eight hour class on customer service. Many are free, and often your corporation will pay for it as well since it enhances your skills as a person and also a manager. I would expect this lack of service more from a regular employee, not a manager. My final side note before leaving this restaurant, apparently the manager doesn't talk to anyone unless you're a young, cute,...
Read moreHaving lived in very large cities all my life, I guess I still just assume most places are open 24 hours or at least until 11pm or 12am. However, last week I contact this CiCis around 9:40pm and asked what time they closed; was told 10pm, obviously. However, the manager I spoke to and subsequently gave me my pizza was MORE THAN HAPPY to go ahead and take an order (it was just one personal pizza). I didn't really wish to place the order as I felt guilty ordering something 15-20 mins B4 they closed but this manager, Jose, insisted that it was NO TROUBLE WHATSOEVER. He was VERY KIND and ACCOMADATING as I was, conveniently, ONLY about 5 mins away (I live in Eastern Odessa/other side of UTPB so normally I wouldn't have been that close to the store). At any rate, as a Level...IDK, Level 8 Reviewer, I think, I wanted to give this manager, Jose, his kind attitude and store (pizza was fantastic! CiCi Spinach and Cheese Pizza is the BEST!) a major "shout out!" Thank you Jose. REALLY APPRECIATED what you did last Thursday pm. 5 Stars for this CiCis location. I ONLY wish they hadn't have closed their location closest to east Odessa (the one by the 5-6 story Chase Bank near 42nd and Grandview)....never understood WHY they did that shortly after I moved here...ESP since 8th and somewhat "near" Dixie is not "just around the corner" for those of us that reside in East Odessa. Anyway....thanks...
Read moreWe went on a Friday night, not too busy or crowded since we went a little after busy hours. Prices were decent, buffet area looked very nice and clean, everything was a little cliche for options with pizza but you have to do what vast majority will eat I suppose. Next time I'll request one if I don't see it. Dessert area had good selection to choose from and every single thing we got was fresh and delicious. The spinach pizza was my absolute favorite though! I could've eaten only that and been happy! Even told my husband I preferred their spinach pizza over pizza hut and dominos spinach pizza. Yummy! Good selection of tea to pick from. Staff was friendly and quick with everything. Only suggestion I'd make is to move the straws over by the drink station instead of on top of the buffet in...
