SUSHI BROTHERS — Restaurant in Odessa

We have eaten at this restaurant three times and the last time was the last time. First, we got there and there was a wait. No big deal. However they sat a party that came after us before us, and they had the same amount of people. The hostess knew the people is why, I think. Then, it was sooo unbearable due to the heat in there. They only have one little mini split to cool it inside their restaurant. Finally, the WORST part is I got violently sick due to food poisoning after eating there. It was definitely their food because I only ate there the entire day. I went to urgent care, and then two weeks later ended back at the ER due having 5 different bacterial infections from Sushi Brother’s food! The worst infection is E.Coli!!! I don't even know where to start. I was excited to try this place as I had heard great things about the food. It's very small with limited seating and the TV has music playing so loud you can't talk to the person right across from you. We waited 15 minutes before I finally stopped a lady who I had walked past us at least 5 times and asked if someone was going to even take our drink order. When the waitress turned around she had been standing there for a while just looking around until she was told. When looking at the menu the food looks amazing but you can only get cans of coke, bottled water or bottles of tea and if you want a refill you have to buy another one. We have ordered Sushi Brothers take out twice now and have been disappointed each time. The first time we got something entirely different from our order, and not very good, but we extended grace since they were just starting out. Now that they’ve had time to get in the groove of everything a second shot felt necessary and I’m here to share my feedback.

Their sushi rolls are the largest around but the size difference is made up entirely by rice. I found that it significantly took away from the flavor of each roll and made it a much heavier meal than typical sushi. In addition the individual slices were very uneven with some having no filling, or just one component, or all the rice on the right or left side.
