John Service in Sales replaced our entire HVAC system and water heater in 2020 and the system has been so great that I finally decided to write a review.
This is our 2nd home and we still had the original Whirlpool furnace from 1975, a Goodman AC that was added on in 2001, and a gas water heater that was somewhere around 10 years old. The furnace, although still working, had always been sketchy and on the back of our mind. We had another company come in for annual service and tell us that the heat exchanger had finally cracked and was letting unsafe amounts of carbon monoxide into the house. Also, our single wall atmospheric vent through the roof did not have enough clearance through the house to safely continue using (was installed incorrectly from the construction of the house in 1975). John had recently installed a new Trane system in our neighbors house and we have always had Trane equipment in our main home and even still have our original Trane AC and Furnaces from 2001 with minimal issues, so with our neighbors recommendation, we called him. He spent hours of his time in our house trying to design and figure out the best system for the unusual situation and tight clearances we had. His team ended up installing a new 97% AFUE 2-Stage Trane Gas furnace with PVC venting out the side of the house, a single stage Trane XR13 AC, and a new 40-gallon electric water heater (to eliminate the need for our unsafe metal roof vent). They also reworked some of the ductwork connected to the furnace, ran a new line set, redid the condensate drain, and new pad for the AC. The install is very clean and organized and looks great! The system has been going to strong for 3 years now with no issues and works significantly better than our janky old system did. Will call him again when we need...
Read moreCalled Johnâs Sales and Service to fix my central air conditioner that the A-coil was freezing up. Technician checked unit and added 1 lb of R22. Said there were no leaks detected. Billed for 1.5 hours and maybe spent 45 minutes on the site. Paid the bill on the spot with a check.
Next day I had the same exact problem, A-Coil freezing up again. Called main office to have the technician come back out and fix the problem. Technician comes a second time and claims the A-coil was dirty and needed cleaning. Bills me for a second service call claiming it wasnât his fault it wasnât fixed the first time. This time the technician left an invoice.
Called main office to complain about being billed for a second service call, the person who deals with billing issues âWendyâ isnât in yet and she will call me back. She never has called me back. After being sent a second invoice for the second service call, I paid the invoice.
$543.65 later, my suggestion is to consider a different company if you need HVAC work. Iâm certainly a very...
Read moreI needed a fridge about 2 years ago. I found out the Appliance store I went to sold their appliance business to John's. So I went there when my fridge went bad. BAD MOVE. I really have nothing good to say. The fridge I bought has been junk from the start. The ice maker has to be manually shut off or the ice cubes will go all over the place. It was the way they made it. Second, after putting my third filter in after flushing it out black flakes started coming out. So I changed to the fourth filter. Same thing happened. So I put a bypass in and the same thing again. So I checked my water out of the tap and no black flakes. I even called John's and I let a message for a call back. It's been 3 days and no call back. Thought I would go to a family-locally owned. Wrong choice. I will find a new...
