So. I don’t know HOW people got hot smoked salmon in the reviews on here. We rocked up and were treated like pissed-on garbage. Questions are unwelcome at best. We said we wanted the hot smoked salmon and a side of seaweed salad. Dude opened the fridge and pulled out a piece of salmon in a plastic bag. I said, “wait is it hot? In the reviews it looks like people got to-go containers to eat out of.” He said, “it’s hot. We don’t have containers. Sorry.” We paid and it was a stone cold piece of smoked salmon all wet in a ziplock. No utensils, nada. Dude couldn’t care less if we died right in front of him lol. When going to Ojai, we stop to get fresh seafood at Ideal Seafood. Friendly staff with great customer service. We went with the plan to pick up some oysters and smoked salmon. The friendly gentleman told us that they have challenges in getting oysters over the past 2-3 months. He showed us some very fresh Ahi, red in color and recommended that. We bought a pound of it and look forward to searing some of it tonight and also making sushi. We also picked up some very delicious smoked salmon which we snacked on before our hike and shared with our pooch.
